This year has been busy; I'm learning not to hord an overflowing of oil or wait until nothing's left but vapors. I'm learning to trust that each day's supply is just that, what I need, and to trust the source of the oil so intimately that I know how many steps it takes to get to it. Not always an easy task when Will and Pride get in the way.

Still taking classes in Greek, just because; teaching a few classes in Stained Glass; working for a steady paycheck means flopping off and on between night and day, depending on the week. As of the end of last week, moved Dad (again) into a smaller setting for care; this seems a much better fit for him, and he likes it. Says that they meet his every need. A couple staying there, the mother has Alzheimer's and the dad is showing beginning stages of demencia. I met with some of their adult children two days ago, and we're thinking of starting an informal support group.

Oh, and Bible Study starts up again (here) on Monday, with another one on Thursday (but at the church).

I still haven't gotten a definitive answer spiritually about pursuing a leadership possition within a formal structure of church. What's good is that I can still pursue the education with their blessing, (and yeah, the question does keep popping up in various forms as to my readiness to do this). I LOVE teaching, I LOVE learning, I seem to get involved in plenty of stuff because I feel led, but honestly, part of this scares me. I worry that I'll fall short or not be able to manage time wisely.

For the possitive, more people are coming to church of all ages, we're slowly becoming a community, and studies together aren't a burden or boring. (on the practical side, this also means that my house has to be clean for at least one day of the week!!!)

And I miss writing!!!

As I commiserate over the lack of time, I should also share that during a multi-task period this morning, I took my car to be washed. Next to the car wash is a Thrift store. I wandered in and found a large section of stuff related to the 4th of July. Lots of small flags and flags to put on car windows. Lapel pins, even the Constitution ( a bunch of copies) tied up in pretty ribbons. Since I know the manager there, I asked if they just got these items in. He said they weren't selling. Said he'd sell 'em by the bag to me for a flat 10 dollars and promise to bring more books for 'em. I had this idea...to attach cardstock to the flags reading, "Pray before you vote" then hand them out sometime before the next election. Wonder if I'd get in trouble over that one?

Just an idea and may not be worth considering as I am new here and just recently returned to Christ after running for a few years, but for what it's worth... in my experience and I have held pastoral and leadership positions in the Church, it is best for ministry to come to you, not for you to go to it. You might let some of the leaders know you are interested in leadership, but actively seeking a position for me never worked out well. The Lord will put you where he wants you in due time. Like I say... just my two cents..

Daily, I'm sorry I missed your post somehow. That happens occasionally. You sound like you have a very full schedule. Studying Greek sounds great. I've wanted to do that very thing. Hope you get back to join us and that you find time to write. Blessings...
