I know I've been a member for a only week or so, but I was just wondering about the critique forums and if critique is welcome. I noticed few replies to work posted in the poetry and writing workshops. I am curious to know if the work posted is just for reading and comments or for critique as well? For myself, I would like honest feedback and criticism when I post something. Do the rest feel the same? Just checking. . .

The private groups are supposed to provide you with people who critique what you write. Of course, sometimes it may not work that way.

You can check out this thread (http://4Believers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1738). One signs up for a suitable critique group.

Yeah, Doc, how would you describe the bulk of what you're working on now? Non-fiction? Fiction? SUspense? You said you wre learning how to write screen-plays? Very cool! Any particular designs on what type of scrren-plays...hmmm? Hmmmm? :)

The writer's workshops are for critiques. Whether you get one or not there is debatable, but that's what they were set up for. I've found it helps to throw a catchy title on it and bump it back to the top if it gets buried with no replies. Even putting the phrase (critique please) beside the title usually elicits some response.

Thank you, thank you for directing me to the write place. :p I am looking forward to joining one of the groups.

In my former writing era (1985-93) I wrote devotionals and Bible studies. I started working on a non-fiction book and then stopped writing until this year. I am searching as to what I am to be writing. I love fiction and theology. I started a fantasy novel but haven't worked on it for a long time. I am also learning to write screenplays--hopefully good sci-fi/fantasy one day. Anyway, I just love to write most anything.
