Yup, I teach violin lessons, but it's not enough money to pay rent and function. I did have a great 'base' job at the beginning of the summer doing voice overs, but then they wanted me to do readings that were, well, porno. I'm no prude, but this was disgusting. And to turn down a reading meant you excused yourself from all other jobs. So I said so long.
But I still need a 'day' job. I'm going to call the local day cares today to see what's up for a quick job, but as far as actual teaching goes, after my last job, I don't think I want to classroom teach for a long time. Three jobs I applied for, and I wouldn't mind having any of them, include, clerk in a music store, (Me and Tim walked in there and we asked the guy how long he'd been playing bass, and the guy goes...'...for ten years...hey, how did you know?' He-heh...true story.)
A surveillance job for an insurance company.
And then one for an assistant Funeral Director, which is a job so 'me' I can't even tell you. People think it's 'weird' but really, the job is all about helping people at the worst time of their lives to gain a steady footing in this strange new world where someone they love no longer exists.
Embalming? Well, I've thought about doing this before, studied the process, seen it done, wasn't bothered. But as far actually going anywhere with it, the timing was always horrible. So, maybe now. and it would allow time for me to give lessons and even finish my degree...like finally.
I'm rooting for FD job, but wouldn't mind the others.
