I modified their premade message just a bit:

"I would like to express my extreme disappointment on your vote against marriage today by ending debate on S.J.Res.40, the amendment to protect marriage.

The bedrock of civilization is the traditional family unit. This social "experiment" is extremely dangerous to the long term health of the United States. Even the Roman Empire under Nero didn't officially sanction homosexuality as Nero knew the consequences of his own lifestyle. I call upon you to make the rational choice that serves America as a whole."

BTW, some people are trying to prevent this from reaching the Senate floor by refusing to vote (Kerry as an example). They know that if it actually gets to the point of voting it will be passed.

Thanks for posting that Gump. 'Sent off an e-mail and signed the petition. When did we lose the strength of character to call a sin a sin?

Well, I don't usually go to these sites--I usually get one or two emails a week with something like this in it. I was about to shut down IE (yeah, I know, I should be using Mozilla) when this thought occured to me. What would God say to me when I die? Would he ask my why I didn't take 2 minutes to send a lousy email in defence of Him? Was I ashamed to have my name added to the electronic records of Christians in this country? Was I too good to click on a link and type a stinkin' message?

Well, plesant surprise, both of Kentucky's senators voted in support of protecting the sanctity of marriage. So I sent a little thank you note to my senator and I feel confident that I made the right choice when I voted for him--how often do you really hear somebody say that?

Unfortunately I now live in Washington with Senator Patty Murrey-in-a-hurry-to-take-our-country-down-the-drain, and Senator Maria Cant(vote)well.

Maybe come November with my little vote in the mix we will get them out of here!

On Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 233-194 in favor of the Marriage Protection Act (MPA) which would take away from activist federal judges the power to declare the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional. DOMA says that no state has to accept another state’s marriage laws which legalize homosexual marriage. DOMA was passed overwhelmingly in 1996 by both the House and Senate and signed into law by then President Bill Clinton.

In September, the House will vote on the Federal Marriage Amendment. Those who voted for MPA on Thursday were voting against homosexual marriage. Those who voted against MPA were voting for homosexual marriage.

Also, here is the response I received from Florida Senator Bill Nelson:

Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns on a
constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.

I am opposed to gay marriage. I firmly believe marriage should
be
only between a man and a woman, which is why I support Florida’s law
and
states’ rights to ban same-sex marriage. But I voted against a
procedural
motion, along with a majority of the Senate, to end debate, because
this
change to the U.S. Constitution does more than ban gay marriage. The
wording could limit civil rights--including inheritance and hospital
visitation, for example--for a whole class of people. And throughout
our
history, the Constitution has always guaranteed civil rights, not taken
them away.

I appreciate you being involved in the political process. I will
keep your views in mind.

I really don't think it matters whether they pass laws against this or not. Gay marriages are illegal. Period. The judges performing the cerimonies are acting in violation of the law, yet they are not stopped from doing so or punished for their crimes. Until those judges are debarred and locked up, no new laws will matter at all. The intellegencia has an agenda and this is just a charade.
