As I was visiting the screenwriting forum, I stumbled across this one! I'm a playwright, based in the UK. When I lived in South Africa I ran a Christian theatre company. Now that I'm back in the UK (6 years now) I'm trying to make inroads into the secular theatre. Had some competition success - wins, shortlists and longlists, plus some professional staged readings, but so far no professional productions. I'm trying to get an agent - aren't we all? So who else is here? What do you write?

Hi, I'm Michael (aka Jecca's Dad),
I've been a playwright for thirty years. Unlike my own father, I put my writing career on hold (Dad wasn't a writer but very work occupied) to raise my family. Within my walk with my children I recognized the Lord and have since turned my writing and other arts over to Him. The kids are 19 & 22 now so the time has come again to get back to what I do. I've not been greatly successful and am interested in regards to publishing or making money (a few pieces here and there but nothing to write home about). I have also penned a novel and some screenplays but what once took a few weeks or a couple months to write now seems to take years. They call it getting old but what can you do?

Hello Michael. Sorry it's taken me a while to respond - been a tad busy. Wow, 30 years as a playwright (you must have started in pre-school :) ) So are you writing any new plays or screenplays right now?
