Hey guys,
a lot of you may remember when I posted prayer requests for my good friend Melissa. Her mom had been sick with cancer for four years and passed away about a year and a half ago. I had also posted prayer requests for her personal life issues after her mom's passing.

Well tonight we got bad news. After experiencing increasing back pain, Melissa visited the Doctor. After a scan of her back it was discovered that she has about 6 tumors up and down her spine. The Doctor is trying to get her to be optimistic, telling her that the chances of them being spinal cancer are about 60%. Although, after the death of her mother, she considers herself diagnosed already.

PLEASE pray with me and my family. Melissa is only 21 years old, and after the loss of her mother, has not been doing well. She confessed to my mom and I that she had been drinking off and on, had taking up smoking both cigarettes and marijuana, and basically that she considered it a mistake but wasn't promising anyone that she wouldn't do it again.

I've been worried about her for a long time, and this is bad news.

Oh, Laura, I'm so sorry to hear this. I will certainly pray for your friend...and for you, that you will be the Lord's shoulder, ear, and voice, supporting and comforting her.

How awfully hard life must be for your friend. No wonder she is slipping. Indeed she needs much prayer. Luckily the prayer of the righteous has much power to save. Let's therefore be fervent for lost lives always - for Jesus will surely take heed and prepare a dwelling place to accommodate such hurting hearts on our requests. This is what truly matters!

Blessings.

Hello everyone,
thanks so much for your prayers. I got a call from Melissa today after she spoke with her Doctor. She has been diagnosed with spinal cord cancer. They will spend the next week exploring the best option for treatment (surgery is not one of them). I was strong and encouraging until she broke down and barely whispered "I'm too young to die Laura"...I don't know what to do except tell her whatever happens it's all in God's plan.

Please continue to pray,
Laura

Oh, Laura, I'm so sorry to hear this. Sometimes it's not necessary to say anything but just to be...be ears that listen, shoulders on which to cry, arms that embrace, and a heart that cares. May God give you strength to be whatever she needs. Praying!

I pray all these awful things she is going through will bring her closer to the Lord in her time of need. It is good that she has admitted these things to you. She is still openly seeking God's help and consolation when she turns to you. Keep pouring the love of Christ upon her. I pray the Lord will send his Christian workers into the field of her heart to help her keep it planted and tilled and especially weeded of evil influence.

Thanks again everyone, I'll keep you updated. Infact I'm going to talk to her tomorrow about starting a site for her, where people can donate money, as she is one of the main sources of income in her home since her mother passed away. She works 2 jobs currently and attends college. Please continue to pray.
