Does the following scripture indicate that God did not impute sin to any man whose death preceded the giving of the law?:

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of Him That was to come." (Romans 5:12-14)

No, I do not think so...
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

There was law right from the beginning. Adam was told about the forbidden tree and what the consequences would be if he/she disobeyed. We know they did eat of the tree and now we have a sin nature and we will all die a physical death because of it.

and as for the spirit...

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse..

However,
I know that He is able to judge what a person knows and the intents of their heart. He will not be fooled. No person need worry that a truly innocent (ignorant of right from wrong) person will go to hell.

Now... I will say that I didn't consult any commentaries on this one (in case you are wondering... where in the world did she come up with this answer... don't blame Gill!)
