Hello all,
Haven't been on this site for a while, but I would kindly request your prayers at this time. My father-in-law died last Sunday, and Mum-in-law and I were the only ones there when he died. This was very traumatic, yet I still seems to be on auto-pilot and feeling that the whole episode is just so surreal. I took hold of the situation by informing my husband (who was away at the time) and the rest of the family of dad's passing.
It's now a week, but mum-in-law is struggling a lot being on her own. She & dad were married for 56 years.
I know that there are many other folk in this sitaution but all your prayers would be a great comfort to all.

Prayers ascending already. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. In-law or not, sounds like you have a strong bond, and that is a blessing. Take care, and know that you are wrapped in the cloak of His love.

I, too, am sorry for your loss. I'm glad you were there to help your mother-in-law. Prayers being sent to the throne. May the Lord comfort you, your husband, and the rest of the family.

Thank you both. God so showed His strength on that evening. I knew it was He working in me, and not ME! I would normally panic and run around like a mad woman, but this time, I was totally in control....or should I say 'God' was in control! Your prayers are a great source of blessing to me.

'Control' might not be the right word. Often in situations like this auto-pilot is a blessing. You'll feel strange for some time before normality kicks back in. The 56 years together will make life very difficult for her for a long time - so your support will be invaluable.
Praying.
