For those of you who remember by original thread, mentioning my search for rock with a distinctly Celtic sound, I though I'd let you know that I found exactly what I was looking for in the Finnish (;)) group Nightwish. They have a driving beat, backed with an explosive symphony, and a lead singer with an almost operatic voice. And some of their stuff has a distinctly Celtic sound. I've loved everything I've heard so far. Just thought I'd share... :)

I love Celtic music ... don't know if what I have would be considered Celtic rock, though.
I'll google Nightwish and see what I find.
Thanks for the info.
Blessings, Francine

Nightwish!?!
There's hardly a thing Celtic about them!
If you were looking for epic metal, I could've still shown you a bunch of other bands.
Check out Symphony X, Sonata Arctica, Epica, and Blind Guardian while you're at it. ;)

Hey, Tarin!
I love Celtic--mostly traditional, but some Celtic Rock. Check out Accuradio.com. They have a Celtic channel that you can actually select a sub-channel for Celtic Rock.
Personally, I like the group Flogging Molly. Traditional sound without so much a traditional beat. :)

LOL I guess I just didn't explain myself very well the first time around. Yeah, Nightwish isn't Celtic, but some of their songs seem to have a Celtic influence. Thanks for the additional suggestions. *goes to iTunes to check them out*
