Talked to a christian brother today who told me a story about man who was hanging with the Hell's Angels who got saved. His life changed so much that his wife wanted nothing to do with him. He ended up with the kids, and they got a divorce. But then his wife was so convicted about the change in his life that she opened here heart to God and gave her life to him.Two years after they were divorced they recently remarried. Wow. His comment to my friend who has known him for a long time was: What God can do......
My friend told me that when this man told him and his wife the story they both got choked up to tears just hearing about the goodness of God working in this man, his wife and their family. When he was telling me the story I was getting choked up just hearing about it as well, and the thought was,Wow, how willing God is, and I realized that in me and I am sure many of us, there is more, much more to learn about the willingness and love of our God for people, and that includes us. It gave me an increased hope and confidence in God and his goodness to answer situations which require his salvation or intrvention in some form. It is amazing how our view of God needs continual adjustment and correction to see the great love and willingness in him to bring about change and healing. There is a scripture in the Psalms about LIMITING God, and how true it is and how any one of us can be doing that and as God opens our understanding to this, we ;may then simply give this part of our hearts to him and then be enlarged in our understanding of his compassion. This increased understanding can enable us to pray, believe and be witnesses in greater measure as we are conduits of God's reality and love.
