Hey Jacks! I will take up that challenge with you. I've been on a diet for 6 weeks now and I am really having a hard time losing the lbs. This will give me another source of accountability/encouragement! When I was younger I could drop 5 lbs so easy but now... no! Part of my problem is that I was put on Hormone Replacement Therapy (bio-identical) and it made me gain weight fast and without changing anything in my diet too much. It's horrible trying to get back to my thinner self now! The only thing I could really cut was carbs and that seems to be doing the trick but very slowly. I've never been one that uses a scale. I've always just went by how my clothes fit and few of them fit right now :(. Once I get back to my happy weight then I will start checking the scale every week and if I've gained a lb I'm going to catch it right there!
In any case...WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh... P.S. I'm exercising 3 days a week too. Just some floor exercises at home and walking.

Count me in! As a lifetime Weight Watcher's member, I'm over my limit and I've got to get down at least 10 pounds. I can say that WW works if you follow it. I've told myself "You bite it, you write it". Now, that's not exactly a writer's wisdom, but a WW rule for writing down everything you eat and counting your points! We can do it, ya'll!

How are you guys doing? Still working on losing a few? I'm still at it. I went to my naturopathic doctor last week and had a BIM test done. It showed that my metabolism is all out of whack. That helps to explain why I can practically starve myself and not loose very much! I found out a lot more too. Being a Vegan I have NOT been getting near enough protein! I know that can be an issue but I thought I was getting enough. My lymph system is goofy too so he has given me some homework (cleansing, suppliments, etc) ... ugh!
I wanted to share this with you so that if you are trying to loose weight you won't leave out the protein!

Hi ladies,
I was very overweight for a teen-ager. And I tried almost every solution. Finally I gave up and told God, "If you want a fat temple to live in, then it's your temple and I'll be fat." I totally gave Him my body, I was sick of trying by myself. Within three months, without changing anything in my diet, I had lost 30 pounds. I call that GOD! I just wanted to write this to encourage you all, God is out there and He does want us to be thin! So keep on keeping on, and remember, it's God's temple you're trying to thin down, not your body. Ok?

I've got my head back into Weight Watchers and I lost 2.6 pounds last week (Thursday to the Thursday prior) and this morning I had lost 2 more so almost 5 pounds. I need to loose 15 pounds to get back into all of my clothes so I'm tackling it 5 pounds at a time. One mini-goal met and two more to go! It really is a mind game.

Hey Rachel E, Thanks for your input... that is very interesting and encouraging!
Tneeley, great job! I know weight watchers really works for a lot of folks! It's so nice when you see the result isn't it!!
I've been adding in rice protein powder and it's not the greatest. It's okay if added to almond/rice milk or something but I can't imagine having to do this forever! Once I lose the remaining pounds it won't be so bad but right now I'm having visions of chicken :p.

Thanks Xenia! In 2001 I lost 37 pounds so I knew Weight Watchers works. Wanna hear something goofy? Since I love to write, writing down what I eat and counting points is actually another branch of my writing adventures. I bought a pretty little purple journal just for WW and I'm tracking my points, how I feel when I eat certain foods (full longer, etc.), and trying to create little experiences with my eating outside of the food itself (like using my Granny's china and putting my water in a pretty glass, etc.). Best thing is that nothing is truly off limits with WW, you just have to count your points and when you use them up you're done for the day! I'm not too good at adding supplements and stuff?
You hang in there. I think we should pray more about these things because you know God loves to hear us ask for His help!

Well if you are goofy then I guess we are in good company with each other.. I have done almost exactly the same thing! Once I had my instruction on what I needed to do I went to Barnes and Noble and bought a pretty little notebook and I've been keeping track of everything. I track the suppliments, what I eat and drink all day long and then I add up the total Calories, Protein, Carbs and fat. It's very enlightening! I have never counted calories or grams before. I also note any effects I've noticed during the day. It is really showing me just how many carbs I've been eating!
Like you, I think the writing of it makes it a bit more interesting :). When I go back to the doctor for my follow up in 2 months I will have a record to refer to and I also made a section for questions I want to ask at my next visit.
I also agree with you on the prayer aspect. I've been praying for quite some time that God would direct me in regards to my hormones and health.
You hang in there too...we can whoop that last 15!!!
