I was surfing around and found someones list of what they considered to be Apostate, heretical or an Anathema. On their list they included under a New Age heading - Holistic health! I thought this somewhat bizarre... I would like your thoughts.

I imagine some people use New Age techiniques in holistic health, but holistic health is not New Age. Basically it means treating the entire body rather than one part because the entire body is affected by one part. It also prefers natural methods to invasive methods when possible. I don't see how that new age. In fact, it sounds Biblical to me.

Xenia - here's the thing, there are a lot of reactionary and close-minded blowhards out there. When you see some guy's list of what is "anathema" and/or "apostate", take that for what it is - some guy's list.
Even is this "some guy" happens to be a mighty bigshot preacher, unless they can offer convincing, valid, lucid and biblical evidence as to why something should be forbidden to believers, they deserve no more a listen-to than any other petty Pharisee or wannabe pope who has disgraced the history of Christianity.

I am not a big fan at all of holistic health -- or at least my interpretation of the phrase -- and don't like the Christianized version of it ...... but is it apostate? Anathema? No.

Right! That's how I've always viewed it too...
And, thanks Ransom. Yes, strong words but I like that.. leaves no doubt as to what you are saying! I believe you are absolutely right.
I try to find the balance in everything and to me if I can find the root cause to any problem then all the better. If I've got a headache because I've been clamping my teeth due to stress then it's best to get at the reason for the stress and not just eat an aspirin!
Thanks you guys... I always just want the truth and don't ever want to hang onto and defend something just because it's something in my own lifestyle.
