When Peter told the people to repent,
Regret now shadowed lives that were ill-spent
Because they slew the Lord upon the cross
And men believed their lives were utter loss.
Their hardened hearts were pierced for what they’d done.
They’d blindly failed to recognize God’s Son.
The Bible warns me that I must repent.
My mind suppresses wrongs and time ill-spent.
My soul seems cold like mockers near the cross.
To Him my life must seem as naught but dross.
Yet sins do flee because His blood did run.
God justified my soul when Jesus won.
To those who do repent when wrongs they face
Our God will sins erase with endless grace.
