Can a person be extremely well endowed with a particular, innate, skill/talent and not, necessarily, be called to that vocation or area of service?

They are wired by God for a purpose, they just might not see the purpose God has built them for. They can think it is only able to be used one way, their way. They need to ask God what to do with it. Also, they may be in the preparation stage and have not received their "Call" yet.

Of course there is the possibility that they were told to do something by God and said no. In which case they should go to God and ask for forgiveness and go do it. I know this from experience, repent and get to it!
