Where is the "Babylon" of Revelation?

Thanks for sharing your understanding.

You're are asking a question that has many differences of opinion. Some say Babylon is the Revised Roman Empire, other the kingdom of Iraq or Iran. Still others say it is America. My personal opinion is it's the kingdom of the Antichrist wherever that may be.

Babylon is both metaphorical and actual. Metaphorically it represents the world system and all that is of this world.

It's physical location is disputed as Tamera says. There is evidence to support it being located in any of the old world empires, Babylon, Rome, etc. The US? that one is a bigger stretch.

I've heard that geographically, Babylon was located in what is now northeastern Iraq, but I think we cheat the true meaning of the name by limiting it to geography. More than that, it is an idea, a concept, of the pagan world as a whole compared with God's world.
