The WiFi connection here at the Hyatt Regency is a bit spotty which has made regular updates difficult, but I'll bring my laptop to the convention center today and hope for time to post a note or two from one of the WiFi hot spots in the lobby.

We got a late start yesterday. Sharon and I were awakened by the sound of water dripping--inside the room. We got up to investigate and discovered an unadvertised special: The hotel had provided a water feature inside our closet.

Thank God we got all of our clothes out of there before the upstairs guest had completely flooded his bathroom, so nothing was damaged. We changed rooms, got dressed, and made the convention by 10:30, about an hour and a half later than we'd hoped.

Most of yesterday was spent handing out flyers to promote book signings for our publisher's authors, my wife and two other ladies, so I haven't even seen half of the convention floor yet, and what I did see was in passing while I looked for people with green, yellow, red, or black name tags. (Blue ones, like mine, are other exhibitors.)

I did stop and look at the Xulon booth for a moment, Shane. My impression was that they didn't have any fiction titles out at all; nearly everything looked like a Christian living title, and my sense was that the books that got the most prominent display were from authors at the convention who were going to be doing book signings at some point.

Sharon has another signing today at 4:00, if her new novel, The Armageddon Strain, has been delivered downstairs. (Well, she'll have a signing either way; we still have a bunch of copies of Winds of Evil to give away.) We also have a meeting this morning with a publicist, which may be very interesting.

Have to go--more later.

Aside from the room, still sounds cool!
