Happy Hi and Hello to all my CW friends.
I told you back in February that my hands were having all kinds of trouble and that they narrowed it down to carpal tunnel stuff.
I had surgery on the right hand on March 11, and on the left hand on April 11.
I've had physical therapy for one or both hands since March 11, twice a week, an hour away (burnin' up the gas).
At this point the right hand is hovering between 75 and 100%; it just doesn't seem to want to go all the way (darn hand... what does it know anyway?).
The left, although it was worked on a month later, is already almost as good (or better in some respects) than the right, but the insides still need a good three weeks of more physical therapy.
I'm now at the point that I can type for ten to fifteen minutes at a time, then rest the left hand for a while before starting up again. Believe me, that's a huge improvement! My hope is that by the time the three weeks are up, I'll have more use of my hands than I have for 20 years!
I've been working at home since mid-February, getting other people to do most of the typing and letting me just direct the projects and think up all the good ideas (at least that's the way I put it).
The doctor says I can stop going to him for the physical therapy now, and just continue to do the hand exercises at home for at least another three weeks.
However, I can drive a little, so I'm going to try to go back to the office. I'm going to try on Tuesday next week. If I have trouble, I'll just work from home the rest of the week and try again the next week.
I appreciate those of you that sent up prayers when this all began, and those that sent PMs to check on me. Thank you for not doing that too much, since you knew it was hard for me to reply.
I look forward to digging through the backlog in the various forums for what I've missed. It was easier to just ignore the site than to try to keep up and not be able to respond.
It will take a while before I can start posting replies to everything I see. Please know that I'll be praying for you as I read through your prayer requests, even if I don't feel up to a response (or maybe just a quick note to say I'm praying, rather than a long note with everything I may like to say).
Blessings to you all!
!thumbsup!
