A LEADING scientist has warned a new species of "humanzee," created from breeding apes with humans, could become a reality unless the government acts to stop scientists experimenting.

Okay... When I see headlines such as this I wonder... IF this humanzee were to be reality would it be considered human by God and have a spirit like humans? I always wonder this about cloned humans too... I know we can but speculate but whata'ya think??

If such a think could happen which I really doubt in the first place, it would probably be an abomination. Genesis 6 is an example of cross breeding (if you are of that school of thought) between humans and angels. The Nephilim were created by that union and pretty much condemned as a race of beings.

But what amazes me more is that people who believe in evolution and the commonality of animal/human roots don't wonder why apes and chimps can't produce offspring. To me that's a divine barrier of precaution, established by an intelligence outside our realm to keep these things from happening. Pure evolutionary thought and acceptance usually results in considering humans simply one species of animal that developed more than any other. But the whole idea that they can't to me smacks of Godly restraints, not evolutionary selection.

Doc has a number of good points. I hadn't thought of it from the evolutionary angle--very interesting!

The thing that really chills me about the article Xenia linked, however, was this line: "He said scientists could possibly try to develop the new species to fill the demand for organ donors."

Um...? Does anyone else have a problem with creating a race of sentient beings only to harvest their organs? If true (and I have my doubts anyone could accomplish it) that bit of info would rank up there as one of the most disturbing things I've ever read.

Possible or not, this whole desire to do these "experiments" reminds me of a line from the movie "Jurassic Park." "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

Yikes.

Good points both of you. I hadn't thought about the Nephilim! It's creepy to say the least.

Wow...that is downright Scary. I mean, think about that...a race of beings, perhaps considered human, and perhaps not, just so that us humans can have plenty of organs, so we will live longer. That is horrible!
Doc has it right. Come Lord Jesus!
