View Full Version : Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed
Who saw it? (And if you did, don't give away the ending - it's too good to miss.)

Haven't seen it yet (my piggy bank is empty) but intend to in May--assuming that Richard Dawkins or someone like him doesn't manage to yank it first, that is.

DALLAS, (christiansunite.com) -- A new front has been opened in the culture wars. Ben Stein's EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed stunned detractors by opening as the nation's #10 movie last weekend. Out for less than one week, it has already become one of the top 25 documentaries of all time. Opponents of the film have attacked everyone and everything in it. They have attacked the producers, the star, the music, and film itself. They have even attacked those who have seen it. Now they want to change the Constitution. http://news.christiansunite.com/Religion_News/religion07137.shtml?from=gadget

I just came back from seeing it and LOVED IT! Oh MY...during the film there are these three minutes of Ben Stein interviewing Richard Dawkins and with the driest of wit, he makes the man look like a prating imbecile, a super-sized fool. And he's not even trying...it's just a case of what Dawkins IS oozing out of him and it's sad, and yet hysterical. I think the war is all about world view...but you gotta see the film.

Ha! It does my heart good to see the movie so successful. I'm very pleased. :)
I did see the movie, and thought it was exceptionally well done. I encourage anyone who hasn't seen it to go!

I wanna see it! Monday for sure.
The article only proves what Ben Stein is talking about. People getting angry just because the truth comes out, and it disturbs their private little philosophies. Never mind that the ideas are logical and well thought out.
I've heard people defend "Imagine" as talking more about "nothing to live and die for" rather than "Imagine there's no Heaven, it's easy if you try ... and no religion, too." But taken as a whole, the message is clearly anti-religion and therefore anti-social--though the song itself is pretty. It just goes to show you you cannot judge a song by its tune.

I'd like to see this movie, but the only theater in the universe with rear window captioning (the universe = reasonable driving distance) is not showing it. I don't even know if it will have captioning when it comes on DVD, cause it seems for the most part that Christian movies don't bother to CC their movies, but Hollywood and false teachers don't have a problem with it.
Sorry, but Time Changer is the ONLY Christian movie I can think of with CC unless you count Left Behind II and III (I believe Left Behind I doesn't).
John MacArthur's videos = no CC
AiG = no CC except for a few museum videos that have subtitles for the exhibits since the volume is low, none of the theater showings at the museum had them.
ICR = I don't know about them.
Various miscellaneous groups = no CC
Christian movie companies in general = most movies, no CC (Ex. The Perfect Stranger. No cc or subtitles, and I couldn't catch quite a bit of the conversation so I don't even know if they were doctrinally correct.)
Hollywood movies = CC
False teachers preaching on the so called Christian channel = CC
Secular TV (not necessarily bad, but not Christian) = mostly CC
I wonder... how many millions of deaf people who would be able to get the gospel, can't b/c people don't consider us a priority?

777 you should make this kind of a priority for you. Help to change the world. Write your congress man and write letters to the Movie makers and theaters. No one can tell something from your personal point of view as well as you ... the person with the grievance.
I return you now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
