OK, so this isn't technically a CW announcement. Still, I thought it important enough to throw it some publicity.
The new movie, "Expelled - No Intelligence Allowed (http://www.expelledthemovie.com/)," is now in theaters. This is the opening weekend, and it would be great if we could all show up and make it a success. Even if you can't physically show up, perhaps you could purchase a ticket online to show your support.
From the Fandango website (http://www.fandango.com/expelled:nointelligenceallowed_113802/movieoverview?date=) (where you can also see if it's playing near you and purchase tickets) :
Ben Stein follows his journey around the globe where he discovers that scientists, educators and philosophers are being persecuted in a modern day witch hunt because they dare to go against the theory of evolution.
Hope to see you there! :)

My Sunday school group went and watched it last night. It was great. We were originally planning on a get together afterwards to discuss it, but w/ the snow we had we decided it best to get home last night. Hopefully we will take time to talk about it tom in class.
I felt so sorry for some of those guys. They try so hard to come up w/ some alternate way for live to exist on earth, so that they don't have to face up to an all powerful God. Dawkins at the end, and there was the other guy talking about crystals. It was just so sad.
There was a lot of good humour w/ the b&w clips thrown in. And hey, Seattle was in the movie, w/ Ben going to the Discovery Institute, so that of course was the icing on the cake. How many of you can say where you live was in the movie? :)

I'm really surprised anyone outside of Christianity is against evolution (at least as it's taught in public schools). Evolution is NOT a science. It is the most absurd religion in the world. It has less actual evidence to support its credulity than any existing religion in the world. But you absolutely cannot convince its adherents that it is anything other than science. All it has ever been is another religion, one for people who are afraid of the consequences of admitting there is actually an intelligent plan to creation. If they admitted that, then there might actually be a God (other than themselves).
There, it felt good to say that.

And I'm really surprised (well, maybe not) to find "christians" who still adhere to evolution as not being contradictory to a Creator. (Not necessarily talking about anyone here at CW, but have had that conversation with others.)

Amen. It's just the handiwork of an intelligent creator.

Thanks WC. I know, sometimes I don't edit very well. I'll have to go take a look and fix it. Thanks again.

My hubby and me went to see the documentary and we both liked it. I wanted to see it and he went along because it was my birthday and I wanted him to go with me :p. He was surprised that he liked it too. I think it was very well done, spoke the truth and was entertaining as well. I hope it's not just the "choir" that goes to see it... and IF Darwin's side does view it I hope they are big enough to see what is really happening! I hope they aren't all like the Hawkins guy who practically vomited every word he spoke regarding those who have the audacity to believe in Intellegent Design.

I thought the movie was very well put together -- loved the animation of the cell process. As an actual paid academic at a state university, I have seen some of the close-mindedness described in the movie, although never to that extent.
I am not necessarily a supported of Intelligent Design (capital letters) as a complete and finished theory that explains everything, and am not at all a young-earth creationist, but certainly the paradigm of an "intelligent designer" (lower-case letters, if you will) answers far more of the big questions than a purely Darwinian evolutionary view does.

Unfortunately, I missed this at the theater! Looks like I'll be relegated to DVD. That's the life of a mommy, I'm afraid. ;)
