Jacks,
I do know that one, and enjoy it very much. Why would you say you aren't a fan? His style or what?

Jacks, I'm surprized you're not a fan. He's done so many good westerns, and you're a fan of Westerns.

I forgot about that one. I also forgot to mention "Take Her She's Mine", one of my favorites.

I love James Stewart... he's my favorite actor of that period... :)
I don't care for 'It's a Wonderful Life', but I love 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington', although I haven't watched it in years... Hmm, should do that while Hubby's gone... ;)
One that HASN'T been mentioned is 'Philadelphia Story' with Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn. This one is a classic. :) I love all the Hitchcock ones I've seen with him (but I also love Cary Grant ones... my 2nd or 3rd favorite actor of that period--3rd maybe to Humphrey Bogart.) All the other ones that have been mentioned (that I've seen) I've enjoyed. There's a few that I've seen that haven't been mentioned here, and I can't think of the names... :(

I agree, Liberty. Jimmy Stewart is number 1 in my list. Humphrey Bogart is number 2 and Cary Grant is number 3.

Bogey and Grant always go back and forth on my list... right now, I've been watching a lot of Grant movies, so he's #2... but if I watch the African Queen or Casablanca, Bogey may go back to #2...
BTW, if anyone knows where I can get a copy of 'Father Goose' (a Grant flick from the early 60s), I'd appreciate it... I've been wanting to watch that for like 3 weeks.

I'd let you borrow my copy if I could. ;) Have you tried Barnesandnoble.com?

Ebay is my favorite place to get rare movies. They have DVDs and VHS movies you can't find in stores.

Haven't tried either of those yet... I just started hunting for it. Looked at my local Borders store and the Half Price Books near my work... Gonna try Best Buy and maybe Suncoast (bleh!) next. I'm sure they have it on Amazon.com, but I'm not sure I want to wait for it if I order it this week (no guarantee that it'll be here by Friday and my trip out of town.)

The Shop Around the Corner is also a good Stewart movie. The original "You've Got Mail." :D

I know I'm late in getting back to your questions. Been busy. Any Who...
I'm a fan just not a huge fan. I love almost all westerns. But he's done other things too. I love his voice and think that it's perfect for westerns. Most of his movies I've had to catch on the re runs so to say and I've just not caught many of them.

Oooh! Used to be one of my favorites! :) Good one!
As an aside, have you seen the 2nd one--In the Good Ol' Summertime with Judy Garland? :)

One my favorites that no one has mentioned: You Can't Take It With You. Very kooky, very silly, so much fun. :D

Yeah, yeah, yeah! Love that one, too! And Shop Around the Corner is great, too. Though already mentioned, I think my two very favorites are It's a Wonderful Life and Rear Window. Oh, oh, oh, I forgot about this one...Magic Town. If you've never seen it, watch for it. It's great!

Hi all of you!
Thanks for all of your suggestions. I've watched a few of his here and there, but now I've got quite a list to go at! Thank you! And I was curious, have any of you watched "How the West was Won"? He stars in a small part in it, which I like.
Again thanks...and if you can think of any more, please keep posting. I want to watch all of his that are worth anything.
Have any of you watched Rare Breed, Far Country, and Broken Arrow? Those three are all good ones.

I've seen How the West Was Won (love the music :) ), Far Country, and I think Rare Breed as well.
Although I don't really like the movie, Jimmy Stewart puts in a good performance in Shenandoah.

Tarin,
glad you've seen those. Have you seen "Broken Arrow"? That's a good one, although very sad. NOT as sad as Shenandoah though..that one is a real tear-jerker...very sad.

I loved Broken Arrow. Shannadoah was my favorite Jimmy Stewart Western though.

Don't think so, but then my memory has a tendency to smoosh all those B westerns together.

That's awesome Tamera!
Tarin,
it's about Cochise, the indian and star's Jimmy Stewart...in a difficult position. I like it, but it is SO sad.
