I enjoy reading Karen's books. The last I read was "A Thousand Tomorrows."
Sad book, but wow, the story was great.

I read A Thousand Tomorrows and Divine, but I have to say I was disappointed. Both stories had great potential, but I felt Kingsbury rushed through the stories, summarized too much, and ultimately didn't dig as deep into the subject matter as she could have. I haven't been able to convince myself to pick up another of her stories.

I am not exactly her target demographic, but I did read "Divine" and (not surprisingly) found it wanting.

My mother-in-law is a fan, for what that's worth.

I read Redemption and half way through Remember because someone recommended them to me. Now, I'm not a big fan of romance or women's fiction, so I may not be the best judge. I found the books well written but the characters a little hard to relate to. They're too perfect. I guess I have a hard time understanding them and why they struggle so much after growing up in the family they did.

My wife loves those books. She is disabled now and is chair bound, so reads a lot. She has graduated to the audio books, so I get to listen to the chic lit w/ her. She likes the other authors of the same type. We have about 8 feet of book shelf space of these kinds of books.

I have read Between Sundays by Kingsbury and enjoyed it. I began one of her earlier books, but never finished it. I suppose everyone has good days and bad. I am reserving judgment until the third book, I guess. Anyone else read Between Sundays?

Read one Kingsbury and didn't enjoy it...too many character's introduced too fast, so I lost track of who was who...very confusing. I prefer Judith Pella and Tracie Peterson actually.

I read Even Now and Ever After by Karen Kingsbury. I liked the books and the story, but it is true that everything happens just so so, and the characters respond in the perfect way for the story to turn out right. It does deal with some hard and real issues which makes the books a little more realistic though.

I've read some that I liked, and some that left me wanting. I can't remember all the titles. I liked the one about the young couple who gave in to each other then parted, and then the woman who a the baby and was reunited with the father years later . . .?

I also liked the one about the couple whose marriage was going bad and she found herself tempted by an old beau, but the marriage worked out.

I also did like Between Sundays (read that right around the end of the GB Packers season so quarterback talk was big at my house then, hee hee.) I read through part of the Redemption series with the same feeling as Tamera, that the characters didn't ring true to me. She deals with the types of issues that I can only read in quantities when I'm in a certain mood, I think.

I've read almost all of her early works. But from 'Dandilion Dust' on I don't think I've read any of them. Time is just very short these days and alot of my reading time is spent on various boards.

She is an excellent author.

My wife had been hearing about her for a long time, and just started reading her. She really likes her. She's reading Fame now.

Karen Kingsbury is probably my favourite Christian author. While I understand the problem of facing "perfect" people, one of the things that I have always enjoyed about her writing is her ability to understand that sometimes people who have been raised in a godly, loving home struggle with their faith and make mistakes. I especially enjoyed the way she tackled the 9/11 tragedy in her novel(s). I read the Redemption series and just absolutely fell in love with the Baxter family.
