What do you think about all of this. do we have another Waco on our hands. Is this the police going in where they should, or intruding where they are not wanted.
Have you heard about this story. It's still kind of breaking. Very interesting I think.

I've heard about it. Apparently, this was a massive child molestation bust on some sort of Mormon compound. Over five hundred women and children were being held prisoner, and living a life of horrible sexual and physical abuse. It was common practice for the female children to be forced into plural "marriages" with old men. It was one of the abused kids who used a "forbidden" cell phone from an "outsider" to call for help.

Sick, sick, sick. If the stories are true and judgment were up to me, every last one of those perverts would be hung, twice. There is no excuse for raping anyone, especially children. Ever.

I agree with Rebecca here. Even if the story isn't true, I would rather be on the side of caution. If they have nothing to hide, they should be worried about it.

I agree if they have nothing to hide then all is well. other wise look out. I hadn't heard in such great detail what was going on. My first thoughts were oh no here we go another Waco.

Well, they've already gotten much further than the ATF did in Waco because, as reports have shown, the feds have not only gotten into the compound, but there have been no casualties either.
This stuff is messed up. Good on them for busting the pœdophilical, blasphemous freaks.

Sick, sick, sick. If they are convicted, the men should be hung by their you-know-what's. Any man that would do such a thing is no man at all.

Agreed 100%. Hence my, "They should be hung, twice."

I couldn't have said it better. I think even that might be too good for them.

I agree with all that's been said but I also wonder why the whole outfit was allowed to carry on. It seems the authorities knew that polygamy (at least) was going on. Evil left to it's own devices just begets more evil! I feel sorry for the many victims... I hope the physical and especially spiritual abuse that has taken place will somehow not rob them of being open to who God really is!
My niece is Mormon :(.

Well, this was a backwards sect of Mormonism. Polygamy was disallowed in the mainstream Mormon church a while back. Just to clarify. ;)

It is gut wrenching to think of what these kids have been through and what life will be for them. Sick sick sick!!!

Ugh. I'm watching more on this story right now and it just keeps getting worse. They're saying that some of the children taken from the compound are pregnant.
Two days ago they were saying that these are the descendants of a similar compound evacuated in 1939 (?) - and I guess that evacuation went badly. It's sort of like watching an even more twisted version of M. Night Shamalayn's (sp?) The Village. Adapting to a different life is going to be very hard for some of these young people - both young boys and girls.
It's just extremely odd that they still haven't found the young girl that made the phone call that sparked the raid in the first place.

It makes perfect sense to me. She's probably terrified and doesn't want to come forward. She's just been torn away from everything she's ever known and placed with "outsiders," who she's been taught to fear. If she confesses to calling, the spotlight will shine bright upon her; as a sexual abuse victim, that's the last thing she wants. I'm sure she was probably expecting a quiet, personal rescue--not a media circus. Not to mention that many of these women (her peers) probably view the abuse as "normal," and would scorn her for calling in. This must be overwhelming, and terrifying on so many different levels.
This is a classic abuse mentality--she calls for help when it gets bad, but at the same time, is afraid of the unknown (leaving). When things cool off a bit, she thinks she'll be able to bear it--until the next time it happens.
My heart really goes out to this child, and to all the victims. I can't even begin to imagine how awful this is for them. :(

That rings true, Rebecca. They said that by the end of her phone call she was already asking to "take things back" and that she wished she'd never called.
If she did come forward, I believe, by law, her identity would be protected, but she may not know that. They are releasing information about torture and abuse, so that must mean someone is talking.
I just can't even begin to imagine what they're going through right now.

Rebecca's evaluation is right-on. I bet that's exactly why we haven't heard from the brave-yet-frghtened girl who started all this. We may never find out who she is, but that's okay. The important thing is that this sick commune is being cracked down upon, before something even more wacko like Waco happens.
It's not a bad idea to pray for her, however. Especially that she meets the real God and He heals her from the abuses she and her friends have suffered.

Unfortunately, her existence may prove vital in a court of law.
She's still their largest credential in this whole crackdown. I hope she comes forward.

They are done with the DNA testing I think. I'm sure they will tell us something soon on how many of the children belong to the same man if any. I'm still not sure I believe any of the stuff they are saying.

Did you hear that the "teenager" who started the whole investigation may actually be a 23-year-old woman in Colorado Springs? They've arrested her for questioning. Frankly, I doubt it. An actress might be able to pretend she was frightened, but why? How would she know about it? If she were a victim's relative who somehow learned about the "temple," why not be up-front when she called? It doesn't make sense.

Looks like she was actually 33 and has made these sorts of calls before. I have wondered from the beginning where her call was shown to be coming from. When you dial 911, in most 911 call stations, an address for the caller immediately pops up. I never heard anyone say that the caller was calling from inside the compound.

Okay, I misremembered her age :o but the basic information was right. That was an interesting article. What are the chances of a series of false sexual abuse calls winding up with a valid one, by accident? There's gotta be more to the story.

At the tmeple, there are minor children who've had children, so there were some issues inside there.
