Hi, I am Clive, and it feels a bit strange introducing myself using a keyboard! Anyway I am married man with five children. We live about 200 yards from the beach in north west England.

We are very involved in our local Church, which takes up a considerable amount of time; but when i have the space I try to get into my little office and do stuff to do with Creative Writing.

I love to write it is a compulsion really, but it has only been over the last six months, that i have seriously attempted work for publication. I write poetry, short stories and have begun several books, on Christian Apologetics and Biblical History!

If that sounds impressive, don't be fooled; there are plenty of ideas, great subjects to write about, but being able to craft them into something readable; well I am sure most of you who read this will know, that's where the hard work comes

So I hope to post a few things on this sight and that readers will like what I have written; I look forward to reading other’s contributions.

Hiya Clive, great to have a fellow Brit join up. There are a few of us here to keep the collonials amused with our 'quaint' spellings !
I live about as far from the sea as you can get on our island to I envy your 200 yards. I trust you are far enough away vertically to avoid tidal incursions.
You'll find folk on this site to be very supportive and as eager to get the best out of your writing as they are their own. Have fun.

Hi there and welcome to cw. It's good to have you here. wow. I wished I lived that close to the beach. And, like Keith, I hope you live high enough to be safe.

Welcome, Clive. Glad you joined our writing family. I look forward to reading some of your work. If you need any site help, go to Support at the top of the page and post your question. If you have a writing question, go to the Writers' Lounge and post it there. Enjoy your stay! Blessings on your writing.

Thanks Keith, yes I wondered if there were many Brits on this sight, so I am glad to be part of a small but perfectly formed minority! Regards to how safe we are so near the coast, our road thankfully on a slope rising upwards from the beach. Although with all the global warning prophesies around; I may be writing on special underwater pads in the not too distant future!

Thanks Tamara. many people ask my Wife and I how we have time to do anything other than bring up our children. There have been many times when the answer would have been 'we don't!'

But the youngest is now 10 and the oldest is 19, so they are more independant, which allows some valuable time to be creative in other ways. Also they are often an inspiration for my writing. When I ask them to read my work, they all say its wonderful, so with critics like them, i keep going!

Bless you Lynn for your encouraging message. When I work out how to put my work onto this site, I look forward to some honest criticism. Thanks for the scripture too.

That's weird. I just tried to go there myself and found the same thing. Btw, I did the drawings for David, but the website and the writing there are his. :)

WOW! You're way over there and I'm way over here (in the United States). I will be sharing more once I get my photo to post (have a neat idea due to 'history' of area I live).

Fantastic about your writing...this place (CW) has been so inspirational to me. You'll enjoy the experience.!thumbsup!

I had trouble before but now they are working for me also. Perhaps it was a server thing.
