View Full Version : A Young Man's Shoes

Shoes of many sizes, have brought me to this place,
Shoes of many colors, have helped me keep my pace,
Shoes of unusual fashion, have helped me run my race…
My favorite shoes of all, I think, are God’s Great Shoes of Grace.

Some of my shoes are “stylin’”, you might say “mighty fine”,
Some of my shoes are expensive, they set my folks back some dimes!
Some of my shoes are for comfort, I’d wear them all the time!
But my footwear serves me best of all, when my steps follow Thine.

The most important thing in shoes is to have a good, sturdy sole (soul).
And when I gave my life to You, You made mine new, and whole!
So when I slip into my shoes, I know that my day’s goal,
Is to live a life that honors You, whatever road I go.

So, Lord, no matter what my feet might wear on any given day,
I want to know I’m in Your will, and walking in Your way.
And Lord, I want to ask right now, please guide me when I stray;
And may I walk as a man who pleases You; this, dear Lord, I pray.
