Prayer for promotion

Hi all. I have a prayer request. I have put in for a promotion at my work place. Competition is tough and I have less seniority than some. Still, I have previous experience in the position I am wanting and feel that I am the most qualified. My resume is proof of this too. The problem is that I work in a very "political" type environment where favortism is rewarded more often than merit. I know the Lord can show me favor no matter the odds. I really want this promotion. I am very thankful for the job I have but I don't like it. I dread every day. This other position is more suitable to me. Please come together with me in agreement that God's favor will be extended to me in this opportunity. I appreciate the prayers I am confident you will send on my behalf. An annoucement should be forthcoming in about 2 weeks (that's a guess). Thanks tons.

Well, the opportunity to apply was closed on Thursday, the 3rd. I expect we will hear something in the next couple of weeks now...:) I appreciate every prayer on my behalf - thanks!

I just got my confirmation e-mail that I made the "best qualified" list! This means that my name has been referred to the next level :). I think we will hear something soon. Please pray again that God will show me favor!!!!!! Thank you soooooo much. To Him be all the glory either way though.....

My supervisor suggested today that I speak with the big boss about the promotion. In other words he wants me to go in and wave my flag a bit. This is VERY hard for me to do. I'm nervous. I am going to talk with him tomorrow but I have been having conversations with him in my head all day long! I keep telling myself to stop it and the next thing you know I am back in that conversation. It's stupid AND futile! I know we are not to be anxious about anything! I know it's in God's hands or at least I keep trying to put it there! Please pray that my mind will settle and that the right words will be provided me TOMORROW when I speak with this man...

I understand your jitters and the exercise in futility going on in your head. I have, on occasion, been known to do the same thing! I pray peace for you, dear one!

I have to tell you Lynn. I had a good night's sleep! Anytime "conversations" came into my mind I used those verses and peace came. I didn't allow myself to get too far from those words and made it into his office with hardly a jitter. I got nervous when I started talking but I thought... Our God is able to use my nervous words just like he used David's sling! I think that stone would have hit Goliath in the forehead if it would have went in the opposite direction!

I was just notified that I was NOT selected for promotion. I am greatly disappointed but have to beleive that I have still been shown God's favor by not allowing it at this time.
