Books for Children re OCD??

I'm not sure this belongs in the writers' thread, or the more general one.
Has anyone read or heard of fictionbooks written specifically for children who have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)?

Hey I have OCD any questions ask. how old is your child that has this.

My granddaughter is now 10; it started when she was nine. My main questions are how or if I should bring up the subject with her. She is resisting reading a book my daughter gave her that is for children with OCD--afraid she'll get contaminated by it. I guess I'm afraid she'll think I'm thinking negatively about her if I ask or say anything.

People that have OCD are a strange lot. I'm sure she is afraid that if she reads the book it will give her more problems than she all ready has. i have OCD and I'm a grown person and I know what I think. I hate to read what others have to say about it thinking that I will get a new problem so i know this must be terrible for her. What is some of her problems how bad does she have OCD.

Really in my book there is no good way for you to talk about this with her until you understand more about it yourself. Ask me anything, and I will help you best I can. You should read the book first for her, see whats in it. Then ask her if she would like to know what parts of the book could help her. have you read the book.



This isn't something that most people want to talk about. You would like to forget it most of the time. I know some people that go to therapy and at her age i would suggest this would be a good thing but she might not want that either.
