Hello...

I'm DD and I'm a writer. I have to keep saying that so that I'll keep on believing it. :) I've only published one piece of short fiction as a result of a local magazine contest, but I still put that pen to paper or the fingers to the keys in this day and age. I've known God all my life (or at least known of Him) and I've made my share of mistakes and set my eyes on things less than the prize, but I'm still believing. My goal is to publish more some day and to touch an audience with the gifts God has bestowed upon me. My name is DD Johnson and I am a writer, singer, floutist, daughter, sister and friend. I have to keep saying that so I'll keep on believing it. ;)

Hey, DD! Welcome to our writing family. We're glad you joined us. There's plenty of help, support, and encouragement around here so roam around and make yourself at home.

I understand your reluctance to call yourself a writer. It has taken me a long time to refer to myself that way. My husband has helped me in this area a great deal. As he talks to people, he occasionally mentions that I am a writer. After hearing it enough times, I actually have become used to the sound of those words and it is now easier for me to say it.

It's always hard for me to answer that question because I like anything where the words speak to me. I'm not a huge metal or rock fan and lately I've been leaning toward Bublé, Groban and much of my favorite contemporary Christian artists but I like a little of everything every now and again. Playing the flute for half my academic life also has me in love with certain classical pieces so I guess you could say I have a taste for that as well. What kind of music do you play?

Some people (none here that I'm aware of) say "I want to be a writer." What htey reallyu mean is they want to have written and to be published, but they don't wantta sit down and perform the act of opening a vein and letting the ink flow onto the pg.

Oh, I see what you mean. I'm that way too. I like contemporary Christian, Praise and Worship, Hymns, Classical, Country, folk, and a variety of others. I actually like quite a wide range of music, which is good, as I play a bass in a band here where I live. I love doing that!
I don't like rock or heavy metal either, not at all. Thanks for writing me back! That's awesome...
