 Publishers Weekly posted this startling report (http://email.publishersweekly.com/cgi-bin2/DM/y/h4X40O4zKK0OYa0DYLy0Ej&rid=178848610). If you have a POD published book with anyone other than Booksurge, you might want to check it out.

Isn't that a violation of the antitrust laws?

Tommie, that's exactly what they're beginning to discuss at Writer Beware!

This whole thing sounds distinctly unethical, even if it's not illegal. :-/

Yikes. Big-time demerit for everybody's favorite on-line retailer.

Am I the only one having trouble with the link? When I click on it, I get the PW header but it's blank under it. I was hoping to read it. I tried twice and nothing.

Lynn, I just tried it and the link worked for me. But here is another link (http://www.writersweekly.com/the_latest_from_angelahoycom/004597_03272008.html) to a more comprehensive version. I hope it works for you! :)

Thanks, Curmudgeon. I get the newsletter but haven't had time to read it. I appreciate the link. It reads much better with words! LOL! I'm sure those given the boot are seething mad! I wonder how long Amazon will get away with this. I think this is a no-no!

Well, I thought I'd jump in ... now that I'm using firefox I can actually post in forums from my MAC.

I've read several takes on what Amazon is trying to do and I think a "wait and see" attitude is a good idea. I agree, and so do other professionals, it looks like this is a violation of the anti-trust thingy.

Also, it's my understanding that not just POD but small publishers, like mine, will be left out as well. My publisher has dealt with booksurge and is adamant she won't deal with them again.

Anyway, it's good to be able to post from my main computer.

Blessings, Francine
