Just checked my sales list for the first time since my vanity-published novel came out from Outskirts Press on Jan. 30 of this year.
It's been out for not quite two months and I've already made back a third of my initial outlay. I'm pretty happy! If these sales keep up, then I should have it paid for and be gleaning profits within a year.
And because I still own the rights to it, the possibility still exists for me to get it commercially published later on.
And the best part is that I've got my first official fan mail. One of my readers actually wrote a letter on paper--five paragraphs talking about how great my book is--and sent it to the publisher to be forwarded to me.
