I was just wondering, what does Good Friday mean to you?

Do you recognize it in some way? Think about a little over 2,000 years ago?

Blessings, Francine

All that Jesus suffered was for the cleansing of my sins and gives me hope in anticipation of Resurrection Sunday and my eternal home with Him. Halleluah! What a Saviour!

Because He was rejected, I'm accepted. Because He died, I live. Because He voluntarily gave up His life for me, I can give up mine for Him. Need I say more?

I have to confess that there were times when Good Friday just seemed ... oh, I don't know ... important, yes. In fact one of THE most important days but sometimes I felt as if it remained in the shadow of the cross.

Several years ago I heard a sermon by Billy Graham talking about Good Friday. What he said was like an arrow straight to my heart. Basically (and I'm paraphrasing here) he talked about how, for the first time in eternity, Jesus was separated from the Father as he hung on the cross. I cannot imagine the loneliness my Savior felt at that moment. To think that Christ had never been separated from God until then.

Those words serve as a haunting reminder of how much Jesus loves me. They also are sometimes my greatest comfort.

Easter Blessings, Francine
