What's you least favorite genre?

For reading, probably Westerns or Historicals, though I don't mind them in movies. Not a HUGE fan of straight romance, but if it's intertwined with a spellbinding mystery, it's okay.

..................................

What's the longest you've ever held a job? The shortest?

Timber Wolf
04-01-2008, 12:21 PM
Praire romances (sorry ladies), (although I love history - it seems what I've seen of historicals are praire romances, maybe I'm not looking in the right section.)

Get taxes done yet? If yes, get the refund? (speaking of which, when does the other check come out?)

Ninjaed -

Working as a contractor, jobs tend not to be very long. 10 mnths. However in college I would end up getting the same job a lot of times, so maybe 3-4 yrs.

Shortest, umm 2-3 days.

Same Q.

Taxes are done; getting the refund. Refunds start going out in May (see link for schedule of payments: http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.html)

If you are receiving the economic stimulas refund, what will you purchase with it?

Timber Wolf
04-02-2008, 01:48 PM
Food. Probably I'm gonna just need to use it for living expenses if and when I get it, since I've been outta work for 6 mnths and am unning out of any savings, and my unemployment is just about used up.

My question is:
Do you use the CW chatroom? If yes, how often?, if no, why not?

Cymrugirl
04-02-2008, 01:53 PM
I have on a couple of occasions. It seems the moments I'm free are often the ones where everyone else is tied up - or there's full blown conversation going on that I don't feel privy to. ??? Not sure if I described that correctly.

Do you have/want a garden? If so, whatchya plantin?

I sort-of have a garden, but it's only got flowers right now. I don't have the time to maintain what I've got for the most part so I just add a few perennials every year.

Oh, and when I go into the chat room, it's typically in the evenings when I'm winding down.

Are you allergic to anything?

Tamera
04-02-2008, 02:06 PM
Yes, I'm allergic to many vegatables and most fruits. Tomatoes are my worst. If I ate a tomatoe, I would die. I can't even weed in a garden with tomatoes in it.

What is your favorite book at the moment.

Xenia
04-02-2008, 02:57 PM
I empathetic with your food allergy. I am anaphylactic to fish & crustations (yuk!) thus iodine. Iodine is an essential so that bugs me...

My favorite book at the moment is Randy Alcorn's Safely Home. I am currently reading The Lamb and the Fuhrer by Ravi Zacharias and that is good too.. much different than Alcorn's book..

If you didn't have to be concerned about money (you are filthy rich) how would you spend your time..

What's the worst thing that's ever gone wrong for you on a vacation?

Tarin
04-02-2008, 05:55 PM
Due to the time (and day) change during my visit to Australia a few years ago, we got our departure dates mixed up. Had it not been for a lucky phone call from home, we would have shown up at the airport the day after our plane left. As it was, we literally threw everything into our suitcases and raced through the long drive back to Melbourne. Very exciting, but all's well that ends well.

ditto - guess it's not so bad if you don't like crustations
(ditto my condolences, not ditto as in I am also allergic)

How many bones? My jaw was broken in three places (sawmill accident - got hit w/ a 4x4), and I chipped a bone in my right foot by bouncing my uncle's honda trail 90 off of it (had my 12 yr younger cousin on the back - stalled the cycle, cousin was to light to stand on starter w/ both feet and jump and move the kick start, had to startt he bike back up by kick starting w/ the injured foot -oowey, fun times).

What are you reading / studying in the Bible right now?

Tamera

If you had to choose between giving up the internet or a personal vehicle, which would you choose?

Timber Wolf
04-03-2008, 04:40 PM
I suppose Internet, as w/ a running vehicle I could get to the library (which is where I am today) and at least have 2 hrs access a day.

What kind of genre do you write?

Rachel E.
04-03-2008, 09:28 PM
Historical Fic, and Western's mostly..a variety of others as well...but those are my main ones.

If you could go back to a certain date in your life and relive it, what would it be?

melw
04-03-2008, 10:09 PM

Rachel E.

Yes, I would. I started writing a story when I was 9. When I turned 11, I realized it was terrible, and (horror of horrors!!) threw it away. Now I wish I had it back, if just to read it over, and see if it was really as bad as I thought.
(it's ok Tamera, thanks for posting there!)

ok...
What is your favorite of your stories right (lol, write) now?

Gosh, just one??? I like all my stories! :)

Seriously, of all the ones that are in different stages of development or progress (or lack thereof), I think I like the 4th in what I hope will be a series the best. (Yes, although I've yet to secure an agent for the 1st one, I have at least 4 or 5 in development.) My main character's husband is arrested for murder, and despite his misgivings about her solving crimes, he has to relent or face the next portion of his life in prison for something he didn't do. When I get to work on it again, I don't know, but it's one that I'm chomping at the bit to do. And I have like 4 other projects ahead of it! *sigh*

What, if anything, do you think God is trying to teach you in this period of your life?

Rachel E.
04-04-2008, 12:40 AM
Only one thing Liberty? lol...ok, here's what I think He's trying to teach me. To be patient, compassionate, kind, self-controlled, and diligent. Can I add any more?? lol j/k

Where, if you are married, was your wedding held? Indoor's/outdoor's and where in US? or not...?

My wedding (more than 5 1/2 years ago!) was held in Kansas, outdoors at a private country club near where my husband and I live now. It was very non-traditional. The country club has a lake, and our wedding was on the beach! Made for some lovely pictures, however. *sigh* Now I'm missing my hubby, who will be home tomorrow. :)

..................................

Do you come from a large family (immediate and extended)?

Rachel E.
04-04-2008, 12:51 AM
Oh my WORD, Liberty! funny you should ask that question while I'm on here... Yes, I have 11 siblings, so my family (immediate) is very large. Lots of cousins and stuff...so in all I have heaps of relatives.

Are there any questions that have been asked, that you wanted to answer, but they already had? What was the question, and what would your answer be?

melw

I want to answer this question.

What, if anything, do you think God is trying to teach you in this period of your life?
God is trying to teach me patience. I am not very patient. But he also teaching me trust, which is what he told me a few weeks ago while praying. Faith, trust and patience. That is what i think God is trying to teach me.

What is your favourite item of clothing? (and that is not a spelling mistake)

Have you ever put your head through a painting??

No, but my head once met with a windmill blade. I have an inch - inch and a half scar just barely in my hairline because of it.

I have a scar on my leg where I ran into a space heater. My daughter's house in Tennessee had no heat, so she had space heater sitting around, including on outside the bathroom where I ran into it in the middle of the night.

My question stands.

How did you manage to pull that off? (and how did you pull it off after you got it on your head?)

Read. :D

If you could change one thing in the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you change?

Currently , or historically.

Historically Adam letting Eve take the bite of the apple.
Currently, three inter-related things. The number of H1B visas being issued, two - prohibit co from sending jobs over seas, three - crackdown on the hiring of illegal immigrants. American jobs for Americans.

No I never put my head through a painting, but I did manage to put my hand through the front of a hot drink vending machine that ripped me off trying to whack it to get my money, or drink, and Ialso put my hand through a double-paned bedroom window (trying to smash a wasp).

So my question is - have you ever done anything similar? what was the circumstsance?

Rachel E.
04-04-2008, 10:00 PM
TW,

I've kicked a window and broke it once. My most interesting scar though is one on my wrist (it looks like I tried to commit suicide, but it really was an accident), cut it open with a knife, the blade slipped, and sliced my wrist. Very interesting scar, and quite a conversation starter! lol... *rolls eyes at self*

Have you ever been hunting? Big game, small game, what was it?

Timber Wolf
04-04-2008, 10:44 PM
my uncle took me hunting when i was yong 10-12, never coyld see those blasted rabbits. also had to go help pack out a moose my aunt had shot when i was in hs. never got the bug to hunt. always figured if i did it woulkd be bow or pistol (specialized pistols use hunting rifle rounds). did a lot of fishing, though.

have been shot playing cops and robbers, w/ real cops. showed the wounds to my uncle. he's like, oh cool sounds like fun. my aunt's like "lee."

ever played cops and robbers w/ the cops?

Rachel E.
04-04-2008, 10:59 PM
You mean real cops I'm assuming, and NO, I haven't. I've seen it done though, and it looks very umm...interesting, exciting maybe? Anyway, that's all there.

If you live outside the US, or if you know the answer to this...How many CM tall are you?

Timber Wolf
04-05-2008, 01:23 PM
2.54 cm / in
6'2" = 74 in
so
2.54 * 74 = 188 cm (aprox)

The killer rabbit on Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Are there any animals you're really afraid of?

uhhhh, actually rabbits are not rodents (rodentia), they are lepus.

After reading 1984 - I hated the idea of rats getting in the house. Now w/ a cat dragging them in and my having had to try to dispatch them as humanely as possible, not so much anymore. Guess it depends on what situation I'm in.

I'd say I "fear" the human predator more than any 4 legged animal. Wild critters usually try to get away,a nd only attack if cornered and can't get away.

My earlier question still stands about the rodent.

Tarin
04-05-2008, 04:37 PM

Hmmm.... unfinished, I have about 4 or 5 in process right now, one of them is The Princess Bride...

Finished.... I'd have to say it was likely either a J.D. Robb book I was rereading or the audio version of The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz, but that one I'm not even certain of...

lynnmosher
04-06-2008, 11:41 AM
Our church has 3 services, all the same, one on Saturday and two on Sunday, except during Christmas and Easter. On Easter, we had 6, 3 and 3, for a total of 29,305 attendees and 52 people saved.

What is your favorite grade school memory?

Timber Wolf

WOW! The church I go to currently has more people than the town I grew up in.

2nd grade - Speeding through the readers we had, having to keep track of the rest of the class so when I got called upon to read and I could go back and do my read-aloud, then go back to where I was and keep reading.

7th grade - getting an assignment from my science teacher to write a 2 pg story, mine was something like 11 pgs

these are the events when I became a reader and a writer (even though I hid from being a writer till 6 mnths ago).

your least favorite memory from grade school? (that you feel comfortable sharing)

can you say the alphabet backwards?

Oooh, Mel! I had a somewhat similar experience in 5th grade... except mine was about what our nation is.

Our teacher was adamant that we live in a democracy, while when you say the Pledge of Allegiance, it says '... and to the Republic for which it stands... ' She didn't like me calling her on it, and kind of muddled around trying to come up with a reasonable answer for a know-it-all 10 year old. :)

As for your question, I can say the alphabet backwards, but I have to think about it really hard as I do it. Definitely can't rattle off the backwards version as quickly as I can rattle it off the right way.

Going to a nascar race and standing to close to the fence. once i jumped out of a car to chase after a brown bear and her cub to take a picture of them. I road a Harley at 100 mph with my dad. Stood 10 feet from a Tiger on a leash in a truck stop parking lot. Does any of these count.

Hmmm... I wonder how Tribble got his name....

I have 2 cats... Alley & Josie. Josie's a handful--since I got pregnant, she won't leave me alone. Alley's an insulin-dependant diabetic. :o It's interesting having to give a cat shots when I'm phobic about needles...

Strangest job... don't know if this qualifies, so I'm going to leave this open for others to answer... When I was 10, my mother worked in a campaign and she'd take my sister and me to the office... Well, I have quite a few times, but I'll tell you the one time that stands out in my memory the most. I was pretty young and we'd had a huge prayer and worship service at our church. I think I recieved a vision from God, because I could see the Angel's all around the corner's of the room, and also the presence of God hovering over us humans like a blanket. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I can remember it as clear as day...wow.

Ive not had many jobs but I'd say it would be working in a shirt factory. My job was to keep the people in material and help iron pockets. It was a hot place not air just fans. I had the job while hubby was going to trucking school. Some people only did the buttons. I walked a lot in this job and liked it.

I also was cleaning house for a lady once and looked under her couch and found quite a bit of Pot. That was strange cause i would have never guessed her for that kind of a person. later i found out it was her hubby.

How many different jobs have you had??

How many different jobs have you had??

Hmm... multiple campaigns that I've volunteered for (those don't really count), babysitting, hostessing at Applebee's, interning at the state capital twice (once in the House, once in the Senate...)

Right now, I'd say about 10, depending on how you define 'job'--if you include the babysitting as 1, and the temping as 1.

How many different jobs have you had??

Hmm...

Suncoast Video, Six Flags Fright Fest, the janitor job, the moving job, the factory job, back to the janitor job – and considering the moving and factory jobs were both from the same staffing agency, maybe they count as one, yes? – the commercial acting gig, the other custodial job at church, knife-selling, Christian bookstore (shudder!), yard work, contracting (neither of those two lasted too long), then I started really temping, during which time I've worked at a law firm, several real estate firms, MAC cosmetics, Estée Lauder Corporate, Google, a couple of equity firms, Arnold Brandt, Hypo Public Finance, Ziff Brothers Management and Warner Music Group.

If we count the temping gigs as one job, which they kind of are, kind of aren't, then I'll say I've had eleven jobs. If we don't count temping as one gig, I've had about twenty-five.

Hmm. I would want to stay female, and have no desire to be a teen again. That leaves many superheros out. I would I would have to say Elastigirl. It's not that I think stretching powers would be particularly fun (I'd rather have invisibility and force fields), but she has a better life than many superheros seem to have. She's happily married and a mom.

So how do you typically dress? Doc Martens and jeans, or pearls and lace, or suits and ties? You get the picture.

Rachel E.
04-08-2008, 11:25 PM
It depends on where I am going and what I'm doing. I'm a more fancy dresser, along the lines of slacks and nice shirt. If I'm working, it's blue jeans and a feminine anything shirt. If I'm really getting dressed, it's a long skirt or dress and some kind of fancy top or blouse. I wear silver jewelry quite a bit too, whether i'm dressing fancy or not.

What Jewelry do you wear? Gold, silver, etc.?

What Jewelry do you wear? Gold, silver, etc.?

Being a bit of a tomboy, I generally only wear my engagement and wedding bands, and one necklace. Sometimes it's a silver cross, or my Liberty dime (usually the dime.) I've been getting more into large, clunky jewelry with stones as of late, but don't wear gold, unless it's white. I'm too pale for it to look good on me. So, usually, I'm wearing the rings (3 on that one finger on my left hand), a necklace, and sometimes a matching pair of earrings, unless they're my Celtic knot ones--I love those, too.

How much time do you spend on your appearance on any given day?

Rachel E.
04-08-2008, 11:37 PM
oh lol... maybe 10 minutes. brush my teeth..comb my hair, and that's it. Or unless I'm going to town or somewhere, then it's around 35 minutes.

Do you, if you are a girl, wear a lot of makeup? Or would you say that you are a pretty "lazy" dresser?

Rachel E.
04-09-2008, 12:12 AM
A single song Liberty? Wow...I think that's too hard. I might be able to narrow it down to a few though.

Let's see.
Fingerprints of God - Steven Curtis Chapman
I Swear - John Michael Montgomery
and
When God made You - Newsong

sorry, that's the best I could do off the top of my head. first one, for two reasons, one cause it reminds me constantly of a person who is very dear to my heart, and two cause it constantly call's me up to be a person after God's heart. The second song, because I'm essentially a VERY romantic person, and this one spoke volumes of my relationship. The third song because, again..I love romance and this song is really the way I think true love is. maybe I'm just weird, but there you have it!

I'd like to ask the same question.
what are your favorite, or, as in my case, 3 favorite songs?

Ransom v. Unman
04-09-2008, 11:16 AM
I'd like to ask the same question.
what are your favorite, or, as in my case, 3 favorite songs?

"Deploy All Monsters" - Blaster the Rocketman
It combines cheesy, camp sci-fi imagery into an explanation about the end of the world and the return of Christ. The music itself is something akin to "epic punk", as it's a fairly lengthy song for the genre, and shows stylisation that takes in from surf, rock-a-billy, thrash punk, Oi! and good-old '77 style punk. It's from my favourite band, is associated with some of my favourite memories, and is all in all, just one of my favourite songs. Actually, it is my favourite song.

That morbid focus on the End of All Things also helps, too!

"Every New Day" - Five Iron Frenzy
The song is a stirring reflection on childhood, maturing, God's redemptive power and rediscovering what good there is in the world. I struggle, often times, to see the positive in things. When I was a child, it wasn't so. "Every new day I thought that I could fly." It reminds me of simpler and more exciting times, and then reminds me that because of the miraculous, supernatural God who makes all things new, those days are within grasp as long as I have my faith in Him. The ska-punk track to the song is subtle and complimentary to the lyrics. It makes serious a genre known typically for being goofy, and is one of those songs that will always make me tear up when I listen to it.

"Into the West" - Annie Lennox (and Howard Shore)
Well, it's only fitting that one of the major songs from the Lord of the Rings movies would make it here, but this work expresses in so many ways both why I love Tolkien, and why I love God. It addresses the darkness I see around me, but also speaks of that glimmering, beautiful hope that good will triumph, that justice shall be served, that evil and despair shall fall away as we sail "into the West." The music, obviously, is quite stirring, and Lennox's haunting vocals are the perfect compliment for the subject matter and score set with it. This is yet another tear-jerker for me. (What? What!? Tough guys cry!) But, yeah... wonderful song.

Back when I had a car, the rear of it was nearly covered in band bumper-stickers... I made the Blaster the Rocketman, The Exploited, and Sham69 stickers to be most apparent.

Nowadays, I'd probably have Headnoise, Flatfoot 56, Oxymoron, Agnostic Front and Warzone stickers in pertinent positions as well. :)

I briefly read the description for the first two songs - not ones I recognize. Then I got to this third one.
Started skimming the title and did a double-take when saw Howard Shore's name. It was like, "wait a minute, I know who he is." Pause. Rewind. "Ah Annie Lenox, Into the West. Ah I know what song that is." Makes me cry every time I listen to it. I had my jaw broken in three places in a sawmill accident, and it didn't make me cry as much as listening to this song does.

That's a hard question. There would be a lot in each place I can think of that would completely repulse me. I guess I'll say Philadelphia - even though there was yellow fever - I could swing by Ben Franklin's shop - perhaps spot Thomas Jefferson - and witness moments in history that I hold dear.

All in all, though - I prefer now. Give me Paris without the revolution - Europe without the Spanish Inquisition - Rome without the debauchery - Athens without the temple prostitution - Jerusalem without - well, without a lot of things that are actually still there - and on and on and on.

Pre-Industrial Edinburgh might be pretty nice.

I liked roller coasters more when I was younger. I haven't ridden on them that much since having kids (more than 8 years ago). It's mostly because of the coaster's long line. When you have children who can't ride the coaster with you, it doesn't work as well.

I don't know what the biggest one I've ridden. I ridden King's Island's the Beast, which is the longest wooden coaster according to ultimaterollercoaster.com. I've been on coasters in Cedar Point. They have some record breaking ones, but i don't remember what the names are. it's been a while. I've been on Cedar Point's Raptor and Corkscrews, I think. Having been homeschooled, I'm not in favor of homeschooling my kids, but will if it's the right choice for the individual kid.

Right now, I'm so infuriated by the public school system that I'll do whatever it takes to make sure they're in a private Christian school, where at least my values aren't being undermined daily in the classroom. But, I still imagine I'll have to go down to the school occasionally and beat some sense into the teachers and/or principal. Just the way I am. :D

I've seen only a few of the original Star Trek episodes, but saw most, if not all, of TNG & Voyager...

Of TNG, my favorite episode is probably any of the Q episodes, or maybe The Game or Data's Day. I love Data. :)

I have a lot of favorites in Voyager... I think one of them is Blood Thirst (?? Not sure of that title--one of the Vulcan's goes into Pon Phar and goes after B'Lana) and many of the ones that focus on 7 of 9 in the 4th season, and the ones that focus on Tom & B'Lana's relationship. I also love the one where the Doctor finds himself falling for 7 when she's asked him to teach her about dating. :p Oh, and the one where the Doctor has to 'hide' in 7! It's so funny!!!

With a cat named "TribbleA" it should not be difficult to tell if I am a trekkie. However, I never got to watch much of any of the series after TNG. No TV now, and to poor to buy the DVDs, and the library doesan't have much other than original and TNG.

I liked the Dr. Who books, never have seen much of the shows - didn't like the ones I saw.

And yes I love classical music. Can't say that I have a fav composer. Depends what mood I'm in. If I'm cleaning I'll listen to the 1812 Overture, William Tell Overture, etc., if I'm studying, writing, etc., I'll listen to something a bit softer.

Worst vacation ever taken?

It's a draw between 2 canoe trips... The canoe trip hubby and I did where he wanted to hike through the woods to this cool spring that we thought was a quarter of a mile (and was more like 1.25 miles away!) and we ended up hiking back to camp in near darkness. That scared the heck out of me--and I'm a paranoid person to begin with!

The other canoe trip was last year around our anniversary. When we camped (same place) there was NO ONE ELSE at the campsite--on a popular river with a ranger station--and it was still 'in season'. Paranoid me came out again and I could barely sleep that night because every little sound had me on edge. Every car had to a some serial killer, and every other noise had to be a mountain lion or something ready to prey on the two of us. I almost slept in my pickup instead of the tent! (And I did cry because I was so creeped out for a while.) I don't think hubby will make me do that again.

Cymrugirl
04-11-2008, 10:40 AM
I'd have to say it's a tie between the black & white versions of Cape Fear and The Manchurian Candidate. Of course, if I was more truthful, I'd tell you that the really old version of House On Haunted Hill - the one where you can see the broomsticks sticking out from beneath the ghosts' bedsheets - scared the living daylights out of me even while I was laughing... oh, oh yeah, and I just remembered an old Vincent Price movie about this lobster thing that grew in peoples spines every time they got scared - until they were 'scared to death.' They actually used a lobster at one point and I could see the shadow of the person's hand moving it around on the floor to the freaky music. It was soooo bad. And I had nightmares for weeks. Ha. ::blushes::

Okay, I'm still going to ask about the worst vacation ever. With my personal track record of seriously lampooned vacations, I'm sure there's got to be someone else out there. ;)

What's the hottest and coldest you've ever been?

PattyU
04-12-2008, 07:23 PM
I think the worst I ever felt from the heat was several years ago when I worked in an office on the 17th floor. The air conditioning in the building broke, and the windows didn't open up on our level. It was very stuffy and I am sure the temp was higher in the building than out side. It was in the hottest time of the year. I became physically ill from the heat, like running to the bathroom sick.

Hmm I'm not sure what the coldest was. I remember delivering papers in a very harsh winter when I was 13. The temps were in the negative 20's and I had a long route. I don't like to be very cold.

See post about 'scary vacations'. As for roughing it, we have a cooler, sometimes with dry ice. As for topics of the sermon today, our worship pastor (yes, you read that right!) spoke about conflict between parents and children or basically family members, using II Samuel 13 - 18. The series we're in is on conflict. Pretty interesting stuff.

Does your church have a 'cry room' for parents with screaming kids? And, if so, do people use it?

Umm Prof,

Mel,

I love to CAMP!! YEAH! and yes, we rough it and we go as often as possible...I love to camp!

Where do you like to go camping?

Our church has a cry room, also for nursing mothers. They can still see and hear the service.

Camping question, still.

My hubby and I typically go camping in the Ozarks of Missouri... Sometimes, we'll go to a state lake in Kansas, but that's rare. We much prefer Missouri. Usually, we're camping along the Current River in the southern part of the state where hubby likes to canoe and fish. I just bring about 3 books with me (depending on the duration of the trip) and my camera so I can read and shoot between bouts of paddling (so he can keep fishing.)

Describe your favorite room in your house.

Sheesh, it's slowing down!!!!

Describe your favorite room in your house.

Despite the 'in progress' look to it right now (and 2 other rooms in my house!) probably my family room is my favorite right now. It's long and fairly narrow (about 25 feet long by maybe 13 or 14 feet wide.) The north end has a sliding glass door to our patio, and there's a little, tiny bathroom on that wall (toilet and sink only--planning on turning the sink into more of a wash bay for hubby). Next to the sliding door on the West wall is the door to our garage and our security system pad. On the opposite end is a brick fireplace and our TV (opposite corners on the south side). There's a small window between them that looks out at my garden and the front entry. The walls are a soft orange that surprisingly looks great with the brick. An air duct runs down the ceiling about 2/3 of the way down the room on the north half of the room. Both sides of the wall surrounding the duct are a plum color.

Now, once we get new furniture, it'll be great.

Oh, and the main reason I like the room is the blank walls--eventually, I hope they will be a gallery of photographs I've taken. I've got three up on the wall now, and have a handful that I'd like to print and frame now... Hmm, something to do while hubby's gone. :p

What is your favorite line or series of lines from any movie? (Give context if necessary.)

Tamera

Lauren Becall: "If you need me, just whistle. You know how to whistle, don't you. You just pucker your lips and blow."

Humphrey Bogart whistles.

This scene for "To Have and Have Not" always makes me smile. I also love some of the lines from "Casablanca".

Do you currently have anything submitted to an agent?

It's already been canceled, but Firefly. :D

Do you play on any sports teams? If so, what sport?

Timber Wolf

Firefly was great - saw it on DVDs, then found out it was only around for one season -"bummer dude."

Used to play volleyball in college for PE credit. Then later whne went back to college played on an intramural college team, then with one of the other players organized a class - which meant finding the facilities and an instructor, it filled up quite rapidly so I was quite pleased. Then a bunch of us that played together on the intramural team formed a team for city league. The guy that taught the class already had a group he played w/ on city league, but get this - he ended up being our team's coach anyway. When my nieces were playing and found out I had played, they began to bug me to get me to help them practice, Ahhh great memories.

If you had the chance to sell all that you had and go off and do "something" what would that something be? You may keep a vehicle, clothes, bedding, food, etc. I'm talking about getting rid of material goods.

I would buy a RV and hit the road. Moving and going some where new every day. Right now my OCD that I'm claiming in the name of the Lord is gone, would keep me from doing this. But it's something i hope to do again some day. Why cause it's just plain fun.

Pizza... I'm a pizza snob. I think there's one place here in town that has the BEST pizza, and if we're going out for pizza, I prefer to go there rather than anywhere else.

I'm also a water snob. I have a UV/Carbon filter at home, but if I'm on the road, there are 3 brands of water I will willingly drink: Evian, Fiji, and Arrowhead (when I can find it.)

Do you support the published authors here at CW by either buying and/or reading their books?

Timber Wolf
04-15-2008, 04:12 PM
ummmmm, I'm getting rid of all my books (well most - it may end up being all, except a handful), so maybe I'm not the right person to answer this. I usually buy my books used at the library, and I usually buy from specific autors I've read before. I guess I'll have to say "no." (Maybe we need a list somewhere - or is there one I am unaware of? I know some of the published blokes (and sheilas) running around around here, but probably not all. And the Writer Showcase may not give a full and complete list as I am ref to.)

I had a stuffed dog whose name is/was Ralph. I still have him. He's brown and has these sad eyes. I think my Dad named him (but maybe I did). He's named after Ralph the dog in Muppets. :) He was probably my favorite, definitely most enduring. Sometimes, when hubby's gone, I get him out and have him in bed with me to keep me company. He doesn't complain if I roll over on him like the cats do. :)
