I used to watch it when I was a kid, never knew it was anime - course didn't know what anime was then, but...

I never knew they were making a live-action movie, just saw the trailer. Hmmmm.

ahhh, yes. I forgot that Iron Man is coming out, as well. Hadn't known about that either until saw the trailer on the net.
I just haven't gone to the movies for awhile. Last one was "Revenge of the Sith."

I can see how that would sour you on movies for a while ........

Amen!

I'll do Iron Man, and Get Smart looks really intriguing, but Speed Racer looks too... something.

Live action?

Speed Racer?

Why do I have this uneasy feeling...

Mmm. I don't feel too terribly optimistic about either prospect.

Iron Man looks OK ... Speed Racer is more fo a question mark to me ... but that doesn't stop me from being psyched by their prospects!

I've had more than enough disappointments spawned from my precious childhood memories, I don't need two more.

...

I never liked Iron Man that much anyway.

Well, actually, even though it was a "dark" movie, I thought it much better than chpts 1, and 2.

Oh, and let's not forget about "John Carter of Mars" coming out next yr.

Haven't heard much of anything about any of the aforementioned flicks, other than seeing trailers on the net, (I don't watch much in the way of TV, so don't see previews) so I'm not making any claims as to how well done they may be.

Since Speed Racer is being done by the same writers as the Matrix, I think I'll pass. I loved the first Matrix and by the end of the trilogy, I was asking, "Was that it?" I even bought the video game with a special script written by them, and the ending of that sucked. So, until they learn how to end a story I will not see a movie by the Wachowski brothers.

Have you seen "V for Vendetta"? Because that had an amazing ending.

Yeah, Matrix was great. They shoudda left it alone after that. After two I 'm going "Oh, great they put him in the matrix w/out him being "jacked in." I thought they could still end with a good flick, but nope, three ruined watching it for me.

Not half as good as the graphic novel's, in my opinion...

The only graphic novels I've read are from Doug TenNapel, and now his latest, Monster Zoo, is being developed by Sam Raimi for the big screen.

Okay, that is worth getting excited about in my opinion... :D
