View Full Version : How did you get your screen name?

Timber Wolf

Well, I'm bored and I started going through and looking at some of ya alls web / shoutlife/ etc., web pgs. And I just got to wondering about your screen names. I realize some of you used a combo of your first / last names / initials, but..., and if you have one at CW, and one here, you can talk about both.

I'll start:

Liking critters I tended towards critters for my screen name, and growing up in Alaska, well, I liked the Timber Wolf.

I don't like to use my real name. So since I love my little dog I'm Jacks Girl. I like the name Jack always was a tom boy so it fits me.

Is he a Jack Terrier? Or did you name him Jack?

Rebecca
03-08-2008, 10:49 PM
I have an unusual first name, so I go by my middle name online: Rebecca. :)

Xenia

I goofed on CW and used my real name. Some guy at work likes to stalk (not in a dangerous way, just an annoying nosy way) what I'm doing over there so I didn't want to use my real name here too. I basically just used Xenia because I like it and have always thought that if I get another Rat Terrier that I would name it that. I don't think I will get another dog so I didn't want the name to go to waste...:)

Katibriah

There is a character in a book that goes by the name Katibriah only it's spelled a bit differently. I liked it so I decided to borrow it. :)

I owe it all to my parents and my husband! LOL!

Phy
03-09-2008, 01:37 AM
Phydeaux is the name of one of Larry Norman's record labels named after his bulldog. Phy is short for Phydeaux.

I'm a professor.
My name's Alan.

And I'm wildly imaginative, as you can tell.

"His talent, His art, His way!"
A Godly inspired typo! ;)

Tamera

I guess I'm not being original. I used my first name.

Ransom v. Unman
03-09-2008, 01:49 PM
An homage to C.S. Lewis' Perelandra, as well as a reference to one of my favourite band's songs – "Ransom vs. the Unman" by Blaster the Rocketman.

I've got a link to it at my edgychristianfictionlovers (http://edgychristianfictionlovers.ning.com/profile/AustinRvUWilliams) site...

Amica
03-09-2008, 04:12 PM
It's a variant of the Latin word for "friendship." I'm a friendly sort, so it seemed to fit. :)

Tarin
03-09-2008, 04:41 PM
W.K. Tarin is a pen name I occasionally use.

Can't Rebecca change your name over at CW?

Xenia

I haven't asked... I'm sure this guy will bore soon and go away though :) She needn't go to the trouble.

Timber Wolf

well, take care if he doesn't.

Gina123
03-10-2008, 02:00 PM
The name I go by in real life is Gina (short for my real life name of Eugenia) Anyway...thats it... (I added the 123 since there are often more than one Gina around)

Mine's pretty easy to figure out ... I write and I'm a girl. Of course, we won't go any further as far as the rest.

I use it in a couple of places and it just seems to fit.

Blessings, Francine

Lookin^Up
03-16-2008, 02:31 AM
Mine has several meanings that fit. I look things up--do a lot of research for my stories. I look up in the sense of encouragement. I write science fiction, so I look up into space, in a way. And most importantly I look up to God as Author and Finisher of my faith. The caret in the middle emphasizes the meanings.

Kinda like "LookinUp" cubed?

smokey the dog
03-17-2008, 04:42 AM
Smokey is our dog's name. I got tired of using variations on my name. Besides this allows me to play in character!
WOOF!

Rhadaghast
04-01-2008, 12:39 PM
Rhadaghast was Gandalf's younger, or more precisley junior wizard. In Tolkein's world, the wizards were actually the lesser angels after the order of valar who assisted in creation. These wizard/angels were charged with keeping. Gandalf was the keeper of the secret flame. Radagast was the keeper of nature.

I style myself Rhadaghast the Green. I got promoted after Gandalf replaced Sauraman the white.

He was the animal talker, wasn't he? (and he was brown, was he not?)

cgee
04-01-2008, 05:36 PM
cgee = my initials (CG), not original except in how it came about. I was attending a number of conferences & following each of them would receive a barage of calls from salepersons saying that they were returning my call. My secretary would put them through to my dismay. The next conference, when I wrote my name on those sign-up sheets & drawings, I wrote Mrs. CGee & none of those calls were put through to me. If I wanted to hear from a particular company I used my full name. Worked well.
When I started writing, I used cgeewriter. Here, because we're all writers, I went back to just cgee.
Now aren't you glad you asked, dear bored one! Connie

Mouse5
04-01-2008, 10:09 PM
I chose Mouse because I love mice. So much so that I collect little figurines and have a hard time killing the little critters when they sneak into my house. The number 5 is the number of people in my family. Me, my husband, and my three children.:D

melw
04-01-2008, 10:20 PM
melw is pretty boring story.

I here Mel and always answer, even online. I used to play a game and every character started with M E L. That way i knew if someone was talking to me.

And the W is my last name intial. I kind of wish i could change to reflect my writing more. And the name i will use when i write.

MEL
Even my shoutlife address isn't what i will end up using.

Rachel E.
04-02-2008, 12:07 AM
my name here is ForeverHis...which is me. I am God's first, last, and in the middle.
My name on CW is just my first name followed by my middle intitial, pretty boring. That's all.

Rhadaghast
04-02-2008, 01:29 PM
He was the animal talker, wasn't he? (and he was brown, was he not?)
Yes he was brown, but I figured that he needed an upgrade when Gandalf got to be white. So I am the green, Rhadaghast. Since 1996. (on the internet anyway.)
