Why do I suddenly feel slightly better about America?

I don't feel so much better for America, as I do worse for England.
Y'know, with Darwin's bulldogs roaming the countryside over there (people like Hitchens, Dawkins, etc.) you'd imagine them to be foaming at the mouth that this very particular form of natural selection has been tampered with.
I don't even agree with Darwinism and I find myself a tad bit upset...
On the other hand, this might make it more difficult for hooligans to break people's faces over lamp-posts, so there is some public service in that.

It's sort of cosmetically tragic too. I mean, London and lampposts. It's like Bobbys on bicycles. Fish and chips. Wallace and Gromit.
Won't exactly feel the same walking down a street at dusk, with the padded gas lamps flickering. And why just lampposts? Why not padded trees? Mailboxes? Garbage cans?
The whole story sheds new meaning on the term padded cell.

Not to mention "soft thinking".

LOL! Too funny! :D
It's a sad state of affairs when people are gawking too hard at their cell phones to even walk down the street. Maybe I have a mean streak, but I say let them knock themselves senseless a few times. They'll learn.

And further to the point, it might be the only way they'll learn!

This is about as bad as someone complaining that their cup of coffee is hot. Umm.. yea coffee is suppose to be hot. Blow on it or wait till it cools.
Same concept. The lamp posts are there. They've been there for how long? Ummm... open your eyes and pay attention to where you are going. Or if you can't talk/text on the phone and walk down the road/sidewalk at the same time you need to either sit down and finish the conversation or hang up the phone.
But that's just my thoughts on the subject. :)

I want to know if these were introduced in Parliament. And if so, did anybody catch that on tape? Cause I'd pay top dollar to watch it.
I'd like to know what aliens would think if they landed here. Well, I guess about a lot of things. Or what will archaeologists think if they dig these things up?
I kind of think they should just pave the sidewalks with rubber so I'll stop stubbing my toes. LOL

So now all of England has to pay to protect ouchy-headed text messengers? *sigh* Our world is so fair and just, it makes me wonder just how much better heaven could really be.

*imagines a world without cell phones and is glad! glad! glad! GLAD!*
Oh, that was a good exercise.

Well, for all we know, everyone using those things might be very liable to die prematurely from brain cancer in another ten or twenty years...
I guess that's another way for natural selection to properly choose our next generation. :o
