I'm tired of hearing them say that the right will unite behind McCain. Because this Right isn't going to. I will have to learn something very evil about who ever holds the Dem ticket in the end.

I may not be able to go out there and pull the lever for Hillary but unless something terrible happens or a miracle happens and MCain don't get the ticket this right winger will be staying home.

I don't see any help on the health care front, or the oil prices, or the economy. i don't see any great strides in rolling back abortion or a great hault to the homosexual marriages. May be I'm wrong but in my little part of the world I'll be honest I'm tired of the Republicans and their weak promises of change.

the only change's i've seen is that im working harder for less money, i still can't afford health care, and more and more jobs are leaving the country not counting the Mexicans that are coming in and taking over the jobs we have. When I say this I'm speaking only of the trucking jobs that are now going to Mexicans and other non Americans because of NAFTA.

Well thats my two cents let me gather up my soap box and turn it over to you guys.

Hey, by all means, let the Christian Right develop a third party! I'd love to see it, even if I staunchly disagree with it!

I'm not saying I want another party really. Just that if Mccain is the guy i'm not going to the party. LOL

I think we need a strong third party. I'm tired of both sides.

I have said all along that if McCain gets the nomination that I would not vote. It made me mad when folks would say.. "well that's just a vote for Obama or Hillary" I insisted hotly that it most certainly was not. I did not feel that a vote for the lesser of two evils was a choice at all. The closer we get though the more I am feeling that I will probably hold my nose and vote for him. It is the only thing in my power available to try and prevent Obama or Hillary from being elected. A terrible way to use a vote but I have decided that I indeed will use it as a tool against the opposition. The options are pretty limited :(.

I'm a conservative and voted for Hillary in Wisconsin. And then I went home and showered and curled up in a fetal position in the corner.

I will vote for just about anybody that is on the ticket opposite Bill-ary/Obama-nation.

Same here. I don't like McCain, but Hillary and Obama scare me. Also, I like McCain stance on abortion and the war in Iraq even if I do disagree with eveything else.

I'm a die-hard conservative... and have a hard time stomaching the idea of EITHER Hilary or Obama as our president. That said, I can't stand John McCain. But, I've had to decide that although I WILL NOT work for McCain--I'm going to have just had a baby by November rolls around anyway--I will do what I can to make sure Kansas City is represented by a conservative in Congress, rather than the LIBERAL dimwit we have in here now. (I could say something a lot stronger than dimwit, but shall refrain.)

Probably the best idea is to hold your nose and vote for McCain, but work your butt off for the Congressional candidates in your area. If we do have a liberal in office, and given the current lot, it's fairly likely, we have to have Conservatives with BACKBONES in Congress to stymie their plans. (and the backbones are VERY important. They have to act like they're in power and take advantage of it! That's why we lost the Congress in 2006. We've got to get some aggressive butt-kickers in there like Tom 'The Hammer' DeLay!!!!)

But without the misuse of federal investigative agencies, the guilty pleas of aides, the accepting of lavish gifts from lobbyists, and associations with total sleazeballs like Abramoff.

Yeah, 'cos he'll clean things up and turn this nation back to Jesus...

Oh, wait, thanks Prof! You already mentioned what I was going to!

You know, he was never convicted, and I don't believe he was indicted on those charges... Don't you think that could be the work of an aggressive Liberal Democrat that was out to get the person who was actually getting things done?

Nah, there's none of that kind of thing going on... I've just seen it happen to friends of mine before...

OK guys, let's play nice.

As for me, I'm not thrilled with McCain. But will I vote for him over Hillary or Obama? You bet.

I just wish it was a matter of voting for someone I believe in, and not only against a candidate who makes me cringe. I'd really like to see an inspirational candidate that I can jump behind, without reservation.

Then my advice would be to move to Europe or stockpile weapons.

:D

KIDDING, FOLKS! JUST KIDDING! Sort of...

Unfortunately, Europe isn't much better. In fact, the countries I'm familiar with are actually worse, imho. But that's a different topic. ;)

Stockpile weapons? Nah. I have enough of a space/storage issue at my house, already. But hey, if enough Costco paper towels to supply a small country are called for, we're in business! :D

Sorry, Rebecca... I get a bit riled up with politics, since it's my 2nd passion behind writing...

I wish that Thompson or Romney had gotten the nod instead of the leader of the Gang of 14 (who blocked some of Bush's court nominations). But, even those two aren't as deeply conservative as we could have had... Come to think of it, the only people I can think of that I could have gotten behind 100% and been thrilled to work for are talk show hosts... Rush Limbaugh... Sean Hannity... the like.

Not Europe... most of those countries are too socialist for my taste... But the weapons thing, I could definitely get behind.

Jack Abramoff plead guilty and was sentenced to 70 months in prison, while DeLay's aides Rudy & Scanlon also plead guilty. DeLay was indicted, but the trial has not started.

Yup, it was probably a Liberal Democrat who made Sen. Vitter go to that escort service, too ... and who entrapped Sen. Craig in that airport ... and former Rep. Foley and the male pages ... and set up Rep. Cunningham and his $2.4M of bribes ... and forced Rep. Renzi to accept the $733,000 from the sweetheart land deal ... and ... and ...

Okay, point made... But, there's just as many scumbags on THEIR side as there is on 'my' side. Symptom of the system, I guess. These idiots get into power and think they're above the law and the moral codes... look at Governor Spitzer, or the former Attorney General from my state (Kansas).

That's exactly why I have stopped identifting myself with one party or the other. I found myself defending people who were indefensible because I shared a few political opinions with them. I'd rather not have to do that.
