Okay, Obama is justifying his "liberal" beliefs on homosexuality, same-sex unions, and abortion with Sermon on the Mount and discounts this scripture from Paul as (my words) unimportant:

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised," wrote St. Paul. "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."

It seems the closer the race, the more conflicting statements this man makes.

I read that too. It sounds like he's getting I-want-to-please-everybody-itis. Symptoms include acute self-contradicting and shortening of logic. Other symptoms may occur, such as increased waffling and lying.

In other words, he's being a politician?

I'm shocked!

I-want-to-please-everybody-itis runs rampant in Washington DC. It flares up in increments of 2, 4, or 6 years, depending on the infected party.

"infected party" describes the two major political organizations quite nice, I'd say.

I like that we're using a singular noun to address the both of them as well. :)

There's a more virulent strain of the disease called I'll-say-anything-to-get-elected syndrom. Symptoms of ISATGES generally include inflammation of grandiose promises, and later on, deficiencies in promise keeping.

I love that new strain ISATGES .. I thought Hillary was the only one guilty of it until now; of course, I've been more irritated by her than Obama. To be quite honest, they both scare me spitless.

Then again, I suppose that's what politics is all about ... the ISATGES.

I hate to say this, but I am not looking to moral issues this election. I did that last time and I got burned with Bush. I think moral issues are being mostly decided by state governments anyway. I'm really trying to look at what the candidates are going to do with other issues and who I think will be able to bring the two parties together and stop playing political games. I know, good luck with that. The people that I really liked didn't even make it this far.
