Several hundred protesters have attacked and broken into the US embassy in the Serbian capital Belgrade, setting fire to part of it. The embassy was closed and unprotected at the time. Reports say the Croatian and UK embassies were also attacked.
The violence follows a peaceful protest by at least 150,000 people outside the main parliament building against Kosovo's declaration of independence.
The US, the UK, Germany and Italy are among those to have recognised Kosovo.

Thank goodness it was closed...

I wonder why they didn't attack the embassies of any of the other dozens of countries that have recognised Kosovo's independence?

Oh – right... Hating America's a big thing everywhere but... well... no, actually, it's pretty big even in America these days!

I think the Japanese are the only people who actually like us! >_<

Yes, I am so thankful that it was closed too! Just a side thought... Wasn't it the Serbs that started WW1?

It was a lot of things that started World War I.

Franz Ferdinand was killed by a Serbian anarchist, and that's what's largely blamed for setting into motion the events that led to WWI.
