Elcipes tonight!

I was outside tonight, and noticed the moon looked--odd. I checked it out online, and sure enough, there's a full lunar eclipse tonight. It should be complete at roughly midnight EST. Apparently, there won't be another one until 2010.

I saw it a while ago -- about half the moon looked reddish-brown.

Oops, my mistake! It's over at 12pm EST. All should be returned to normal by then.

It was a bizarre thing to see... first, it looked like someone took a bite out of the moon. Then, it took on a reddish tint. Interesting!

I was so glad to learn it wasn't the end of the world and the moon wasn't being swallowed by a dragon! I was driving a bit wonky last night once I spotted it in the sky. We had a completely clear view here.
