It's a shame that Mitt Romney won the GOP side of the primary here in Massachusetts. Most of us here in Massachusetts agreed that Romney did nothing good for the state... Go, McCain and Huckabee!!!

I agree. I don't like Romney, and I feel insulted that as a conservative Christian republican, he's being pushed down my throat as the conservative candidate. I've mentioned in another post that I like Huckabee, but if I were given a choice between Romney and McCain, I would choose McCain.

I myself think McCain is a little on the war happy side. I must say that
though I'm a republican through and through I'm not sure if the United States
can survive another 4 years with a Rep in office.
If I'm forced to pick between Mccain and Hillary i may just have to stay home.
Not sure what to do.

I don't think this nation will do good for four years with Obama or Hillary at the helm. I'm not happy with McCain or Romney, but prefer them both to the democrats running. However, this nation has in the past survived bad leadership and it will again no matter who wins. I remember before Reagan was elected, everyone was talking about the fact that the US is finished. Under Carter, hostages were taken in Iran and the rescue mission failed. Morgage rates were up to 23%. Unemployment was in the double digets. Inflation was at an all time high, and the gasoline shortage was so bad that people would wait in line for hours for five dollars worth of gas. It also looked like Russia was winning the cold war. But after 8 years of Reagan, the nation not only survived but thrived. It will again.

I've been around under all possible combinations of Dems & Reps running the White House and Congress ... and we have survived so far, just fine.

There are write-in votes, y'know... And third party candidates that might actually help bring about some actual, semblance of democracy...

Mmm, I'd debate you on what Raygun did for the country, but that's neither here nor there.
If we recall our history properly, it was several stupendous episodes of bad leadership that actually wound up giving birth to it. Who's to say that kind of discontent won't rise up once more?
My own personal feelings about Cowboy Ronnie aside, I'll also note none of these candidates are a Raygun. One of them is a Clinton, but I trust them about the same, and for the kind of fundamental, far-sweeping changes this country needs to implement before it implodes, I don't think a single one running is up for the job.
So, once again, Jesus and Gandalf at the ballot in November...

Whether you agree with who I considered good leadership or not, my point is this nation is bigger than just one man, and I refuse to believe that one bad president will destroy it.

But a bad administrative staff, along with the executive, coupled with a system in which deep-rooted but necessary changes are nearly impossible, can...

Romney just dropped out. It's between McCain and Huckabee. I guess everyone has probably figured out who I'm supporting by now. LOL.

Whoa... That's a blinder. I at least expected Romney to stay the course until all the votes were in.
Now, inform me a bit – what happens to those delegates slated to vote for Romney at the convention now that Romney's dropped out of the race?

It is customary for the ex-candidate to "release" their delegates to vote for the candidate of their choosing at the conventoin, though the candidate may request their delegates support a specifc candidate endorsed by the ex-candidate.
