I'm curious as to whether anyone else here homeschools their kids, what kind of curriculum they use, whether or not they want to stick their kids in a closet till they turn 18... oops did I say that out loud.
I am a mother of three wonderfully annoying kids. I have a 2nd grader, 1st grader, and one who thinks she is in kindergarten but secretly she's not quite there yet.
We use Rod and Staff curriculum. The kids have found it easy to use and a lot of times they need very little instruction time.
I seriously would not lock them in a closet, hehe, but there are days where they can be extraordinarily obnoxious and I feel like banging my head against the wall. But for the most part the choice to school the kids at home have been nothing but a blessing.

I am not currently a homeschool parent. But I did homeschool my daughter in high school. She's 22 now. I used the ACE program. If I had it to do again, I probably would have used something else. I wasn't happy with some aspects of it.

I was homeschooled for 2-4 grades, and I'm planning on homeschooling my kids all the way through high school if and when I get married and have any.
We used abeka textbooks, but I don't really know of any other ones. There are some good science textbooks you can find at

Hope that helps!

I've been to the answers in genesis site. It's a good site. I used some of their stuff when I was teaching a Wednesday night program at church and didn't have decent material to use. The kids I worked with loved it.

I am currently homeschooling or pre (home)schooling my three and one year old, and plan to keep them home until they outsmart me (which could be tomorrow.)
I havent really thought about curriculum i still have a year or so befroe i truly need to get it going.
I would love to Homeschool my oldest who is eleven but her mom (and i are not together) wouldn't stand for it.
When i do get full custody i plan on home schooling her also.

It's amazing what a three and one year old can come up with when they put their mind to it. All three of mine kids figured out how to get past anything child proof by the age of two. It was rather annoying at times. Still is actually. lol
You're right about not really needing curriculum at the moment, but it's never to early to start looking at all the different ones out there. There is so much anymore that it can be a bit overwhelming at times.
Good luck and let me know if I can help in any way. :)
