I checked in last week to see about some friends, but other than that, I haven't been there in almost a year. :o

I've not explored the site properly yet - its a massive animal !

Very true!

It's definitely more of a visual artists' domain, and if one works in word-art, then poetry seems to be the favoured form. I hope you'll do well there Keith. It was too damaging to my self-esteem. :p

I'm there, but have nothing posted. Careful exploring that beast, it has some VERY DARK images and much that is p*rn*graphic.

Hisart – you'd be a radioactive explosion of light over there. Your work's good enough that people will pay attention to you. I know there are other Christians there, too. It would be great to see you featured on the frontpage, as opposed to some other works that might be featured...

Never thought of it that way, thanks!

Noticed the less acceptable areas of the site ransom and agree with your comment to Hisart.
Light in dark places. A seasoning of salt. seem appropriate phrases.

Although that site is not my cup of tea, I do like your work there, Keith, and your work on your links, Ransom. Hisart, I think I've already said,, on CW, that your work is cool! Yes, be light and salt! All three of you!

Looks like some real talent over there. How do you do something like that. Take a picture of it and down load it or scan it in there. Just curious.

Basically...

A lot of work in there is made entirely on computers as well.

My pieces on th deviantart site started as black ink hand drawn 'doodles'. I scanned them into the computer and added a number of my photos into the mix and manipulated them using an old programme called LivePix. Takes about a day per piece.

I love PSE2! I can "Draw" an image that looks almost like a photo! My images start out at about 24"x36" @ 300dpi, then when I get done with it I shrink it down to 6"x9" @ 300dpi and it gets so real looking ... it's scary!!!

Keith, how do I find your work on deviant? You must not be registered under your name.

Hisart, Did you do your avatar with that method? It looks so real. It's awesome.

That's actually one of the covers he's currently nominated for, Lynne. It was one of the Sword Review pieces he's done.

I don't know exactly how he did it though, but you're right. It looks magnificent.

Oh, I know. I think I voted for it. I voted for a number of things lately and don't remember all of them. I'll check, just to make sure. I started to word my post that way but didn't. It's really cool.

Thanks! Glad you like it!

It's hand scribbled in PSE2 @ 300dpi and 36" x 24", so it's HUGE inside the PC! To give you an idea how big, there are trees reflected in his eyes! When I'm happy with it and have it all nice and tight, then I shrink it down to about 9" x 6" @ 300dpi and it looks like a photograph! Sometimes it fights me and it can take awhile, other times it flows like water and it seems to take no time at all!

Again, I'm glad you like it!

Lynn: I've 'reverted' to Wordsculptor on deviantart.
