I'm not a fan of talk radio at all, but I have become a bigger fan of radio programs the last few years than I am of television and film. My dad introduced me to the old radio dramas when I was a kid. My first exposure to Edgar Allen Poe was one dark night on the road as Boris Karloff read the Telltale Heart. I was hooked.

Anybody else enjoy radio shows?

My big radio loves right now:

Prairie Home Companion
Car Talk (these guys have the best job)
The Science Guy
Coast to Coast with George Noory - I LOVE this show. It's so ridiculous and interesting at the same time - and I laugh constantly while listening to the bizarrely serious stories. Good fodder for fiction writers too. ;)

I also enjoy Radio Wales online and the Minnesota websites for radio.

Hubby is talking about getting me a satellite radio system and, I admit, it's the first piece of technology he's threatened to buy me in years that hasn't made me growl at him. he he he

I have been in a few places when C2C was on re-broadcast from the night before at 10 PM, and I would listen for an hour or so in bed. But it's live where I'm at now from 1AM, so I don't catch it. As a fan of the X-Files, I am fascinated by some of the shows, topics, and (best of all!) callers.

Car Talk rocks, too.

I listed to some sports talk, and a few regular talk shows: My new one is the Dennis Miller Show.

Did you ever hear the interview with Mad Man Markhum? Or subsequently if he was ever found?

I miss Art Bell.

I loved that show growing up. I remember how surprised I was to learn that Otis from The Andy Griffith Show was the star of that show. Mr. ?.....what was his name? It's been so long.

We have XM and Sirrus radio. Hubby is addictied to audios and there are a lot of good things on both of them. You can get a sample i think on their web sites. and down load a radio schedule. They have the oldies like you are talking about and if you have one radio with sirrus you can listen to some things on line but not all. I dont think you can listen to the old radio shows on line.

I can ask hubby if you like which satellite radio he thinks you would like best. Talk again soon. There is nothing like satellite radio i think. Also you might like on the radio stations is Dave Ramsey's talk show he's not your normal talk radio an you will learn something.

I think Sirrus is the one that has the best NPR but not sure.
