This thread is of course not a way for those of you that are skinny to make fun of us that are not. It's to try to give some of us something to look forward too like a support group so may be we can really loose some weight this year.
My starting weight is....257  no laughing or snickering.
I'm going to try to put my weight on here at least once a month may be more anyone want to join.
We can help each other celebrate when we loose a pound and cry when we don't.
Join in if you want to loose 5 pounds or 50 or more.

I hope this is ok and that no one cares that we do this.

join in then Lynn we will be glad to have you. Everyone don't have to post their weight if you don't want to. it's kind of my own way of trying to make sure i stay on the diet.

Today is a fat day. I feel fat i hate days like this. I'm always over weight but I don't always feel like I'm over weight. I haven't walked today but I'm going to try to start jumping in here every day.

One thing to remember, Jacks...don't get on the scale every day. You'll get disillusioned very quickly. Make a pact with yourself to weigh yourself only once a week.
Another tip...don't try to cut out everything at once. If I already said this, forgive me. Just cut out one or two things for a while. Then remove something else. You need to lose slowly. It's the only healthy way. You don't want a crash diet. Really bad for you.

That is good advice.

I would like to gain about 5-7 pounds. I am happy where I am but a little more would be nice.
Oh yeah a scale is meaningless, it an evil product used to remind people to buy diet products. We do not even have one in our house. (I weigh myself at the gym)

Well, scales can be perfect for certain personalities. Owning a scale and getting on it every single day is exactly what has worked for me. I quickly saw when I gained a pound or two and could make an immediate adjustment that day - plus it gave me a daily reminder of how much I weighed before I started eating.
There are a lot of people now bucking the former advice of "never weigh yourself every day" because statistically, it just works better for a lot of people to do just that.
I definitely have Christmas poundage to lose. Thankfully, I've done it before and lost a LOT more so I hope that will encourage me that I can lose what I picked up. I think it will always be a constant game of caloric chess for me because I adore cooking - and I want to eat what I cook!

While I do see your point and agree to some extent, your clothes do the same thing. How they fit tell you where you are at. And the gain of "a pound or two" is insignificant. It is the 5 & 10 pound additions that are an issue.
I am glad it works and it helping stay where you want to be. Some people get "scale obsession" and are on it 2-3 times a day.

Lose pounds, lose fat, Lose inches
Count me in
I start heart reahab on Monday and hope to learn the right way all over again. Each time I lose the same 20 pounds, I think well this is the right way. the only thing I have right is how to put the same 20 pounds back on.
We made reservations today for Bike week in Daytona, need about 25 off by then!
Wish me luck.
Will let you know how things are going

I started a week ago, not a diet but just changing the way i eat and what i eat and when
and why I eat.
As of yesterday i lost six pounds (only 140 to go to get to the weight my height says i should be at......)
One thing i found out.... is that most dips, have less calories and fat than salad dressings, so i am using ranch dip instead of ranch salad dressing and saving over a hundred calories.
Thanks for the thread jacks... i will keep in touch.
i am wanting ot lose about 10 kilos (don't know pounds). As i am close ot 70 kilos. I would like to lose maybe 15-20, but i am not goign ot push it. If i can get ot 60 i will be happy. aslo i want to be able to fit into some of my clothes, unless i get pregnant first.

As of this morning, I've lost 10 pounds. And, yes, I do weigh every day at the same time, just like I take my blood sugar reading every day (actually, several times a day on the blood sugar, lol).

Hi ya'll.
At my official weigh in i had dropped 8 and half pounds. It is now three days till the next official weigh in, and at last check i had dropped another 5 pounds or so. (my scale is wacky, thanks to the kids playing with it.)
Still not on a true work out program just eating healthy and less, lots less than i use to. i would say i am eating at least 1800 to 200 thousand calories a day if not less.
I have had bad days where i ate everything.. and gained weight, but then got back on my horse and lost the weight again.
I'll check back soon,
i am praying for all those trying to lose weight.
In Jesus,
bill

Hey, here's some supplements that will aid the weight loss process. First, take a daily multi-vitamin. Next, try 3000 IU of vitamins c (You can't over-take vitamins C becuase it's water soluable, don't worry about an over-dose,) along with one extra supplement vitamin D (at least 3000 IU's) and calcium (at least 600 IU's.)
The vitamins C works to heal up your metabolism, your bodies ability to burn fat. Also, the many over-weight people have a vitamin D deficiency. That vitamin, in combination with the calcium helps regulate the amount of fat your body actually stores. If you aren't getting enough, you store more fat. I know...CRINGE! But stick to the 200 IU's unless other wise told by a doctor because you can over-dose on that one. Also, eat foods that have vitamin D in them, like meats (YAY!) Chicken, fish, beef, eggs...all the stuff we're told to avoid (Yeah, vegetarians are SUCH examples to us...Blehhh!)...and they wonder why America is obese. Also, get some sun each day..it helps you make Vitamin D yourself.
