;) As the 13th member I entered a few minutes before the new year. So via Pacific Time I'm the first 2008 member.
Seriously I'm coming in from christianwriters.com & also belong to shoutlife.com.
I write articles, devotionals, and Bible studies as well as a column for Positively Feminine on emotional abuse. My non-fiction book (in progress) is on breaking the chain of emotional abuse and is autobiographical. (My son is proof that the chain can be broken; he is in ministry as a Christian book cover designer.)
After 41 years of nursing I retired in 2005, but I still am a Parish/Faith Community Nurse through my church although I help people in the community also. I bridge the medical with the spiritual; & what a joy it is to pray with my patients.
God called me to write when I was 60 years old & didn't even own a computer- my blog will tell you more.
During 2007 I became the editor of The Encourager, a newsletter mailed to about 150 men and women with chronic illnesses. I also joined with another writer and opened The Sonrise Writers. We began with several writers who we had taken classes with; & our purpose is to encourage one another, provide critiques, and pass on writing info.
Then I created 4Him2U,an e-zine for the Sonrise Writers & guests to have a place to write. We "aired" Nov 17th & have had over 2000 visitors; our writers & readers are international. So far we've been in 13 countries besides the USA.
To relax I read- mysteries are my favorites, write letters (by hand), & do needlework- knitting & embroidery. The greatest happiness in my life is provided by my grandchildren. My grandson is in kindergarten & we're planning on writing a book together. His Daddy, my son, will illustrate it. My granddaughter is 20 months old & loves to be read to. When you reach the last page she yells out "The End" as she runs for the next one to be read.
I am a busy lady & love it! :( (I'm not sad. I just love purple!)
Stop by my blog, check out my column (best if you begin with the first one), & be sure to visit 4Him2U for some great Christian writing.
