View Full Version : How has the writer's strike changed the way you watch TV?

A lot of shows are going through abbreviated seasons this year because of the writer's strike. I was sad to see The Office go dark a couple of months ago. And I'm even sadder to see Friday Night Lights preempted by Dateline NBC.

With a few exceptions (Kitchen Nightmares), I can't stand reality TV. I have a feeling the first half of 2008 is going to be a bad TV-wise for me...

But hey, who has time for TV anyway?

LOL! Hasn't changed it a bit! I love watching TVLand, Hallmark channel, old movies, especially black and whites, travel channel, history channel, etc. I hate most of the junk that is on! I guess that would mean I like some of the junk...LOL! No, not much to like!

I watch mostly classic TV, too--plus some DIY type shows. The strike really hasn't affected me much. But I'm probably in the minority. ;)

Aside from Office re-runs and Futurama re-runs...there is no point in TV.

LOL! ML, I think you were born in the wrong time. I think somewhere in the great future would suit you better! Or am I wrong?

I wish the writer's strike would hurry up and be over.

Apparently the final season of The Shield was wrapped up before the strike so it won't be delayed. Here's hoping season seven is stronger than season six.

They only had 7 scripts of 24 written, so the whole season has been scrapped.

He's a great actor in WTR. I mean, that he could actually pretend to be defeatable, really quite a feat for one so great...

I haven't watched T.V. in three years. We went on a fast for Jan 05 of anything that could be put in God's place of Rulership. So besides the sweets we cut out T.V. and the first time we turned it back on ... VictoriaSecretions blasted us! I shut it off and waited about a week, but when I turned it on we were so assaulted that I unplugged the Antennae {Never had cable} and it's not been plugged back in since then. We do watch videos {Love Meet the Robinsons!} and buy the new Veggies as the come out so we're not videoless! As far as the writer's strike, I thought they paid those monkeys in bananas?

LOL Hisart! That's exactly why we need some Christians out there who can write stuff worth watching!

And I like Meet the Robinsons, too.

Taking a gander at the stuff coming from the "Christian" segment of the media industry, unless we want 24/7 re-runs of VeggieTales, things won't get much better with our involvement. :(

The writers strike has made me afraid of being a screenwriter.

Just took the kids to see "The Pirates that don't do anything" and we all agreed it was better than Jonah! When it comes out on video I'm getting a copy too!

Twisted cheese curls!
