I added Safely Home in the Historical section. This book doesn't really fit in any other category. It's a story based on actual people (persecuted Christians in China) but is written as fiction to protect people. It is in my top 5 favorites and will most certainly be a repeat read!

I'd like to recommend some for the mystery/suspense file (which, IMHO, should probably be one, but to each his own).
Violet Dawn
Coral Moon
Crimson Eve
Amber Morn
These are all by our very own Brandilyn Collins and the books are all in the Kanner Lake series (I listed them in order.) (I've only read Violet Dawn, but really want to get my hands on the rest of them. :D )
Also, I'd like to recommend Gravity (AKA John Robinson)'s books, but alas, I can't seem to find all their titles on Amazon.com. Perhaps he'd be kind enough to supply their names?
ProfessorAlan

Thriller is usually grouped with suspense. Mystery is definitely a different genre, in terms of POV, epic scale, number of characters, etc ...
I don't know what heading exactly these would go under or I'd put them there. Sorry! :o They are a combination of historical romance, and action/adventure.
I'd like to add the three books in the series: Legacy of the King's Pirates, by M.L. Tyndall. (Titles are: The Redemption, The Reliance, and The Restitution)
These books are incredible, and to those of you that even remotely like pirate stories, these books are a must! :D

Hmm, I'm wondering if adding books written by CW members is a good idea. We are, after all, discussing pros and cons of their work. I think we would be less likely to be honest with the negative side of the work if knew the author might read our comments. Not, of course, that I'm suggesting either Gravity's or Brandilyn's work would deserve a bashing - but we are trying to discuss stories objectively. Thoughts? I'll wait to add righter's suggestions until I get some feedback.
BTW, don't forget that anyone is free to add titles to the list himself. Just quote the latest edition of the list, remove the quote tags, and insert your suggested titles. In fact, I'd prefer everyone do it that way, so that I don't need to update the list myself whenever there's a new suggestion.:D
@Lori: Are any of these books stand-alone? We're trying to avoid series.;)

Maybe we should PM them privately and ask them if they'd mind? Make it up to them rather than us? I haven't read Gravity's stuff, but the one I've read of Brandilyn's is definitely worthy of being broken down and analyzed--we could probably all learn a lot about the craft by doing so!
Besides, I'm sure that they've taken tougher critiques than ours from their editors and/or early readers. :) Who knows? Maybe they'd enjoy having their stuff picked apart in our format--or would be a willing participant in picking it apart or explaining why they did what they did in the story. ;)

Yes, the first book in the series (The Redeption) is a stand alone. Sorry I didn't clarify. :o

Still waiting to hear from Brandilyn, but Gravity gave gracious permission for us add to Joe Box to the list. I've done so, and I stuck Lori's suggestion in under Romance, since that genre seems to need a little fattening up. ;)

Still waiting to hear from Brandilyn, but Gravity gave gracious permission for us add to Joe Box to the list.
Yea! I don't think Brandilyn checks in as often as John does... give her a few days.

... I stuck Lori's suggestion in under Romance, since that genre seems to need a little fattening up. ;)
Seems like some of the historicals -- like the one we just read -- fit somewhat into that category?

Historical can be tough to nail down because they so often are merely the setting of a book with other genre elements. I'm basically relying on whoever submits a title to make sure it gets into the right genre. But I agree that Redeeming Love would have more fit more appropriately under romance. Try to keep that in mind, folks, when you're suggesting material: if the book's primary focus is romance, it belongs under the Romance heading - even if it has a historical setting.;)

Can we still add books for future genres? If so, I suggest The Host by Stephanie Meyer for the Science Fiction list. I just read it and really enjoyed it. I liked it more than I expected. It's a little melodramatic in parts, but I still recommend it.
