Welcome to the new poetry discussion forum! Here, you can discuss topics such as favorite poets, style, inspiration, and other relevant topics. Please note that we do not allow posting of poetry (or other creative works) here--you must use the showcase and workshops, same as before.

Thanks, and enjoy! :)

This is also where you can put those asides that have been clogging up the REAL work chums.

I love reading and writing poetry. I belong to the Haiku Society of America (HSA), and when I receive my Frog Pond (their journal) , I read it from cover-to-cover. I also love longer poetry in almost any form or style, a long as it is written well. We should all take care to write as well as we know how.

I love reading and writing poetry.

Me too Delilah! Actually, the new poetry forum is what inspired me to jump aboard. Haiku is a huge favorite of mine too :)

A great idea!

So cheers to the new poetry forum
May it have plenty of decorum
May it be free from pretense and spite
May our readers not be given a fright
Let's hope its here to stay
If so, it will make my day.

:)

Great idea for a forum, Rebecca!

Here's questions for you poets/poetesses,

Do you prefer long poems or shorter ones?
Do you enjoy narrative poems or ones portraying a scene or place?
Do have a favorite kind of poem -- haiku, rhyming, narrative, free verse, other?

My poems tend to be short. However, I would enjoy longer poems
well written. When I read poems, I enjoy the spacing and artistic
layout, too. It adds much to the poem in my opinion.

Enjoy poems and write a poem every day.
Blessings,
Bertha
