Follow me you said,
Trust me, Ill never let go

to trust is to commit,
to follow, is to let go

I've known you all my life,
yet I dont know you at all

a stranger within my darkness
a stranger from the light

a strong hand reaches for me
I pull back
the pain, it's too great
a burden heavy upon my soul

I cry out
no one answers
my call fades, dying within the wind
I reach out but only to fall

I am broken inside
a light dying within

I heard a still small voice,
It called to me ever so gently
I called. you didnt answer.
I screamed, you looked the other way.
I died for you, you spat on my face.

I close my eyes, blocking out that voice
I push it away
it hurts too much and so
i continue to fall

life runs by me, leaving me to death
friends fade, time fades.
I am fading.

I,the dying soul broken and alone
I am dying in this darkness, my own hell

I hesitate

the darkness begins to recede
i can see
the chains have been broken away

I am free
I am broken, yet no longer a dying soul
I am in darkness, but I am full of light
I am dying but I am alive
