Here is a question for established,experienced self-published authors. Although over a million copies of My fathers(Dr.Roy Gingrich) conservative,evanglical Bible Commentaries have been sold without advertising, I am thinking about advertising to a narrow niche market of conservative,evangelical ministers,sunday school teachers and divinity students.I have budjeted for this. Do you think that is a good idea and what has your experience told you as to the best way to do this? Doug Gingrich,Roy Gingrich Book Ministry

What sort of advertising are you considering? There are a lot of threads with good advice in them, if you have time to peruse through them.

How have a million copies been sold so far?

I'm not sure that mlee1189 has made any posts after the particular day that he posted. I will give him a chance to answer, though.

Since I am from the same neck of the woods--as they say around here--I am familiar with Dr.Roy Gingrich and his books.

Dr.Roy Gingrich was a professor at a college in Memphis. He used some of his books in the classes he taught. The students I spoke with didn't mind having to buy his books because he used the same outline in his lectures as were in his books and that made the note taking more simple for his students. Anyway, for self-publishing he had a built in market.

It was a brilliant idea for self-publishing.
